32k !! Did you have to pay this amount (over the insurance amount) ? Or was it all covered by the insurance?

How much did you have to pay?
Damn that's almost half the cost of the bike!
Old parts -- are you getting all the damaged parts ?

Looks like, I have to get the bill from the carriage and provide it to the Insurance company upon which they will give me the claim money. 80% money back or spares which are metal, like frame nall. 50% for things like mudgaurd etc which are plastic/non-metal.. Bike is 1.5 Years old..

My options where, fix the old spares by spending around 6K-8K, but I cant claim for insurance OR replace all the broken spares by spending 30,000 and can claim. I went for the latter because I will have to spend 6K-8K anyway so why not get replacements of spares parts..

        >>Old parts -- are you getting all the damaged parts ?

        Absolutely..

so how does the bike ride now after the frame & forks replaced ? reusing the frame... for what ? it would be dangerous to put it to use, unless its off the roads..
The exhaust ... now you can provide us with the 'dissection' of the exhaust (tell us were the cat con is present, how it can be removed) or if you can tweak it to make it a bit 'free flowing'.. this is one part you can do some DIY/testing.

Its smooth actually. I use to get 50KM/L before the accident. Thats one thing I ll watch closely now. The frame, its not that week. Anyway, will see what I can do with it.

Mate, I will have to say "Pardon" for this. Did not get you to be honest.

I said you can play around with the old exhaust.. what is wrong or there to be dishonest about there is one guy here on xbhp who removed the catcon from his r15's stock exhaust.. so i thought you might want to do some tinkering with it..

                        Vehicle Insurance

                        Hello,

I was surfing internet for some tips regarding bike security systems available in india where bike theft is not unknown these days .
Suddenly another thought popped up into my mind rrgarding bike insurance schemes & how do they work ?

                        So i have these questions,
31).If my bike is stolen how the insurance systems works out for me in helping me ?

2).Currently i have IFFCO TOKIO insurance. Is it reliable & trustworthy in cases such as theft etc. ?

3).As i didnt get my bike serviced aptly during free service period i think my company warranty on bike stands void (am i correct if not please feel free to do so )
& does this in anyway hamper my vehicle insurance ,if i had to make a claim for theft ?

4).How much expenses does insurance company covers if bike is stolen ?

5). Also few tips regarding as to things to be kept ready in emergency if bike is stolen like chasis number or policy number or anything like that ?

Please excuse my overt curiosity :-)

Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

                            Expired Policy Renewal Option

                            Hi All,

My Two Wheeler Insurance policy expired on 23rd Jan, 2013.

As it is expired I am not able to renew it online (IFFCO Tokio).

I have seen ICICI Lombard allows online renewal for expired policy which seems simple. So really ICICI allows online renewal for expired policies ??? or they have any other Terms before issuance ?

No it is simple to renew expired policies online with ICICI Lombard.

But I would suggest go to a Govt. insurance Company. You will have to take your bike there. It will be verified by a surveyor, who will take pics and impression of the chassis number and give you your new policy within ten minutes. It might take a little more time than online renewal, but it is safer and better.

Why I should prefer Government Insurance companies rather than ICICI Lombard ??? Do you mean since my policy is expired there would be problems with claim processes ?
