booked in first week of jan. Was promised to get it delivered by atmost feb 1st week but still didnt get it.Originally posted by manan View Postreward ..
but hey...when you booked your bike what delivery time did showroom people gave you ?
thats a common problem most of them are facing. btw did you bring this matter to the svc ppl? If so what did they say?Originally posted by abhishekk89 View PostHey all !!
I got my new karizma recently... Extremely happy with the bike... Its really gorgeous and performs well too...
I'm having one small problem though... After riding for say 15-20 km the flaring heats up.. so does the fuel tank.. any idea why ??
one of my friends said that this could be attributed to a defective fuel pump... can any one please shed some light on this..From variable Bhps to a constant 17.6 Bhp.

Riding at low gears may be a cause of heat generation. But I am much worried about month of may, june when the mercury will touch 43.
Well this weekend I'll not able to go to service center as I m out of station. But after coming back I'll definitely go to service center and also go on a high way ride to make sure that problem was due to low gears.Originally posted by abhishekk89 View PostHey all !!

That's now confirmed by few of use.Originally posted by fast_ferocious View Postbooked in first week of jan. Was promised to get it delivered by atmost feb 1st week but still didnt get it.

@abhishekk89, you bike is brand new, churn it out more after Ist service it will lower down. Give me you location & your colour, i will update you in the owners list
Guys travelled day before in 40 Deg C @ around 12-2 pm from Pune to lonavala and back. Just would say, the fairing and tank did not heat up during transit period ( continously drove it for 120kms at around 60-70kmph. I can just conclude this occurs only if you travel at lower gears and at lower speeds for longer duration. HH has designed this bike keeping tourer conditions and because of which it is not performing well in city conditions. Oil cooler is not performing at that conditions. But on highways it's awesome. I could also see a red zmr on the opposite direction, it also looks awesome guys.
Also had a long chat with the technician of ZMR at the showroom. He said vibration and knocking is the comman problem which almost all the zmr's have pointed out. Vibration cannot be reduced to zero as they have assembled the entire fairing in pieces. To lower the maintainence cost. Next time will also get feedback of this heating issue.
From front yes I was having that problem in the intial phase, but it was solved in my first servcing.Originally posted by kaemakazi View Posti changed my tires to m45 but am facing a problem there is a squeaking kind of sound when i apply the discs and even when the tire rotates(only front)..is anyone else facing this issue too will be going to fortpoint tomorrow.they would help right was worried since i changed the tyres to m45.Last edited by neo88; 03-22-2010, 10:05 AM.Dream the impossible because dreams do come true !

May be this is a reason; also this happens with every bike if you drive in jam traffic with most of the clutch usage ...lower speeds...engine get heat up...as all bikes engines are AIR cooled...except R15...Originally posted by neo88 View PostGuys travelled day before in 40 Deg C @ around 12-2 pm from Pune to lonavala and back. I maybe wrong but here is my explanation for heating isue:
"In FULL aircooled bikes engine is kept open(no full fairing), therefore the heat is distributed in the sorrounding enviorment equally and one doesnot feels heats thus." But, in "Water\oil cooled bikes with full fairing, the heat is not distributed in the sorroundings due to fairing and thus one can feel it a little more."
What's your say guys??

Right...engine heat up during ride...(its with all bikes...not only for ZMR)...but in full fairing...air get distributed to outside but with less speed due to space...it keep surrounded to inside of fairing and heat air passes out from where it get space...Originally posted by abhichotu.abhi View PostI maybe wrong but here is my explanation for heating isue:

+1 and the job of Dissipating the heat in that case ( liquid cooled or oil cooled engines ) is done by the external cooler.Originally posted by abhichotu.abhi View PostI maybe wrong but here is my explanation for heating isue:

There is a oil cooler on left side of the bike which are ergonomically fitted so that air coming from the front enters the faring passes through the coolers and through the opening provided on the fairing( beside the Z of ZMR written on the fairing) and a small part of it through the opening provided near footrests... So as the out going hot air from the cooler touches the fairing while passing out hence it heats up... As a matter of fact the Oil cooler is working at its best, though it gets little air during crowded city rides but still picks up lot of heat from the cooler... Hence though you ride for shorter periods in the city you feel faring is heated up...Originally posted by abhichotu.abhi View PostYup! same here.
There isn't enough air available to cool the fairing and cooler (the faster you go the more air you pick up and hence cools faster and also heat is dissipated to surroundings faster) and also in these summer days the air taken into cooler itself will be hot(due to temperature gradient between air and fluid in the cooler, the heat is transferred from cooler to the incoming air to remove heat) then how can we expect that incoming air will effectively carry away entire heat which the cooler is coughing out at its full potential...
Note even the best super bikes and cars heat up even though they are built with finest cooling tech's. So I request my bro's there is no need to worry (when its slightly hot) until and unless it gets unbearably hotLast edited by noel046; 03-23-2010, 12:54 AM.

My bad.. almost forgot to tell about my bike.. I own a white karizma zmr.. I'm from bangalore.. Got my bike last month.. Had the first service done just recently.. Done almost 900 km..
Bout the heating.. I agree when i ride in the highway i don't experience heating up.. its only when i ride in the city.. i'm a bad rider in the city.. hate riding here.. tend to depress the clutch most of the time.. i haven't told this to my service person.. will do when i go towards the service center..
My service person told me not to cross the 60 speed limit when i bought the vehicle... can i slowly increase my limit to 65 or 70 now that i've done almost 900 km ?? or should i wait till my 2nd service..."Power, Beauty and Soul - quintessential elements for automotive perfection" - Aston Martin
