i am in the same range, techinician informed me i can strech to any limit ( this is not a carb version and FI dosen't require any restriction from day 1) but will not be good for engine life, still can strech upto 80 ( as informed to me by anmol ) I have taken upto 75 during my last drive. But try to stick to 60 for maximum time for better efficiency and engine lifeOriginally posted by abhishekk89 View PostDream the impossible because dreams do come true !

This is brilliant explanation....Originally posted by noel046 View PostThere are two oil coolers on either side of the bike which are ergonomically fitted so that air coming from the front enters the faring passes through the coolers and through the opening provided on the fairing( beside the Z of ZMR written on the fairing) and a small part of it through the opening provided near footrests... So as the out going hot air from the cooler touches the fairing while passing out hence it heats up... As a matter of fact the Oil cooler is working at its best, though it gets little air during crowded city rides but still picks up lot of heat from the cooler... Hence though you ride for shorter periods in the city you feel faring is heated up...
There isn't enough air available to cool the fairing and cooler (the faster you go the more air you pick up and hence cools faster and also heat is dissipated to surroundings faster) and also in these summer days the air taken into cooler itself will be hot(due to temperature gradient between air and fluid in the cooler, the heat is transferred from cooler to the incoming air to remove heat) then how can we expect that incoming air will effectively carry away entire heat which the cooler is coughing out at its full potential...

my pal's ZMR is around 10days old, done with 1st service and we took it outskirts of the city and tested its potential to the max, It could top 126kmph on the speedo and its acceleration is pretty much good. It will reach its top wack much quicker.Originally posted by abhishekk89 View PostMy bad.. almost forgot to tell about my bike.. I own a white karizma zmr.. I'm from bangalore.. Got my bike last month.. Had the first service done just recently.. Done almost 900 km..
Bout the heating.. I agree when i ride in the highway i don't experience heating up.. its only when i ride in the city.. i'm a bad rider in the city.. hate riding here.. tend to depress the clutch most of the time.. i haven't told this to my service person.. will do when i go towards the service center..
My service person told me not to cross the 60 speed limit when i bought the vehicle... can i slowly increase my limit to 65 or 70 now that i've done almost 900 km ?? or should i wait till my 2nd service...

I guess ZMR have only one vertically placed oil cooler in the front left portion inside the fairing

Actually I saw someone riding a White ZMR in J.P Nagar 1st phase on Sunday (21/03) in the evening around 6.30 pm. I followed him for a while and enjoyed the sound of the engine...

... Sorry there is only one towards the left of the engine I shall correct it...
@Manan:
Oil Cooler is used to cool the lubricating oil when its temperature becomes quite high. Oil cooler is a simple Heat exchanger. This oil cooler can be cooled by two ways
1. Using cold water from radiator(it uses water or glycerine and also ethylene glycol as they have increased capacity to carry heat)
2. By air stream (as in case of ZMR)
If you aren't still convinced I suggest you to use 10W40 oil of your choice(as I feel all brands are equally competent) W30 to W40 transition might give you slight egde as W40 oils can carry more heat then W30... Give it try might work for your bike(Since this small change of grade wont cause any harm to your bike)...
I would also suggest small check ups:
1. Check if there is malfunctioning of Oil pump
2. Clean cooler if any dust or muddy particles are clogged on cooler
3. Also Check your engine oil, is it clean (or does it need a replacement)
Note: Please do not use any sort of additives in Oil
