      ZMR ride day:

Thanks to Mohsin, I had his ZMR for a full day with me and luckily there was a lot of work pending around town, so obviously gave it a long spin this day. As ever, Mohsin kindly obliged for which am really grateful to him. Thank you brother

The day began early and firing the babe up was no issue whatsoever. First push of the button and with that fuel injection hiss, the engine woke up to its normal idling position. I was off on the road in a zippy! The PGMFI really aids in delivering a crisp and linear acceleration across the powerband. You dive into a corner and dart out perfectly.. superb! You get an awesome roll the throttle feeling and the big fairing makes one feel like riding a superbike. The rear view mirrors are also superb and given this combination you cut through traffic zip zap zoom! This was evident as the Mumbai traffic was choked as ever in the morning and moving across quickly was never so easier. Plus, no vibrations felt anywhere

The riding position is 2-in-1 because of the clipons. When you want to race ahead, sit back, lower the arms & crouch...When you just want to munch the long miles, sit upright & the clipons still accomodate you. They are plain awesome. The seat has been kept soft, but still a little more foam would have helped. Anyways, moving on, the bikes right RVM was tightened so got it adjusted from Fortpoint Mahim after which i dashed to Bombay Central. The first Red ZMR in Mumbai was being delivered today and luckily caught it at the workshop where it had come for a wash and shine..Heres some pix..Red looks really hot! My opinion, it overshadowed the white. Looked like a CBR!

Back on the road, reached Haji Ali signal and it was a treat to see the big momma of hyper tourers arrive in my rvms! I noticed a wide split back seat, then the black exhausts and then appeared the monstrous front fairing in gold livery. The 'Busa stood right besides me and the owner looked at the ZMR and me at him!! It was funny scene. A mini busa and the real thing side by side!! The light turned green and he was off in a nanosecond..It was a sheer delight listening the sweet sound of the suzuki..made my day! It was around noon as I reached and I would like to come to the heat up factor. Actually, it doesnt feel hot! The region around the thighs wasnt hot and whatever heat I felt was because of the weather which is normal! So yes, the oil cooler does its duty.
Also, the rear disc..Its got ample bite and provides better stopping power. Some guys have been saying its like the same ZMA drum but I wouldnt agree.. There were many times in the day when I reached around 45- 50ks and had to brake instantly. The bike stops immediately, yes with proper braking.

Coming to the RTMI..well its a mixed bag of beans. When riding at consistent speeds it shows an approximate number and when shuffling through various kms it throws up weird numbers ranging from 99kpl to a ridiculous 150kpl!! Makes you laugh while riding. Heres a shot while in motion..

Did up my work and until I was back home by evening I had done as many as 80-90 kms in the day. It surely was my longest run in the city on a bike and made me wonder how had the ZMR fared..Well! It came out on top. I was less fatigued, could do the miles without any discomfort and infact arrived at my destination relaxed. One more thing I noticed while riding in the dark is the headlamp throw. The reflectors broad angle helps throw light to a farther distance, infact as great as a p220s, seriously. Just throw away the stock bulb, fit in a HID and see the magic. It does its duty.

Finally, heads still kept turning...yaawwn!! And summing up, the ZMR is a really comfortable bike, keeps the Karizma legacy going & once the engine opens up it shall get even smoother. Around the city especially, the ZMR is Zippier, Meanier and Racier( as Bunny put it..truly so!) Given its great ride and mileage as well, this is turning out to be an all round performer. Mohsins bikes giving around 40-43 kpl(around city) which is a really good figure. To end the days diary, heres another snap. Missed my dslr around.

The recommended oil by HH for the ZMR is 10w30 SJ ie the gold can one..Thats the best oil they got I guess.

The 10w30 runs out pretty fast despite these guys quoting 6000kms. It hardly lasts for around 1000 kms or a little more. Not more than this.

I have buddy, check my post earlier. And the ZMA-R doesnt have tubeless tyres. Maybe here on they will give it as standard.
