    H4 4300k Bixenons cost around - 2.8k
Any holder type 4300k Single beams - 2.2k
    H4 4300k Halogen + hid cost - 2.4k

I saw a lot of projectors and most of them in terms of output were sad. Bixenon projectors bulky and big . So i finally got a hella micro de . Its sturdy and the light output is really sharp and neat .

People are spending 5k for Projectors i would suggest check the hella micro de once before spending . Hella Micro de costs 5.5k for a pair .
This is what all you will get in 5.5k

Many guys are looking for external lights with hids they can do something similar . All the below bikes are using the hella micro de.

I have attached a pic what i took few weeks back. Will post some pics in action later.

The hella micro de what i tested is also great . No trouble for oncoming vehicles.

Currently working on a FZ now 2 micro de will be installed with some mods. its going to be mean . its going to be something similar to this

So what role does coil & winding plays here? I heard they require additional battery; is that true or will an existing battery suffice? What's the amps required by the battery?
no need of an extra battery people on xbhp has done it with modifications to the present electrical system.... i am running an hid on the factory fitted 5Ah battery and no problems as of yet...

    You're Welcome,Sir.
    HIDs require a DC supply.

Im not sure about the following but older gen bikes like the Pulsars with AC setup required coil and winding for anything above a 35 Halogen bulb and pretty much all the bikes these days have enough juice to run HID.

and also note that a 35w HID draws more power than a 35w halogen ONLY at the start till it reaches its full output and then requires LESSER power than halogen!

    1. What's projector? Is it the doom or something else?
    2. What's HID? Is it the bulb?
    3. Is the projector to be fitted inside the existing head lamp? Or how? I'm little confused on things here & hence the silly questions.

Last but not the least, what's bi-xenon projector (or HID)? How's this different from the regular ones?

    TIA
    1. projector is basically a lens which focusses the beam on the road and prevents it from going haywire. it looks like a dome.
    2. HID stands for High Intensity Discharge. it is a bulb without halogen gas and it will be better if you google the explanation of it. the whole kit includes a ballast and a bulb.
    3. the projector is to be fitted inside the existing headlamp. to know how it looks chk out my album....

Projector is the lens through which the HID Bulb spreads the light and its pattern.
    2. What's HID? Is it the bulb?
HID stands for High Intensity Discharge and yes its basically the bulb
    3. Is the projector to be fitted inside the existing head lamp? Or how? I'm little confused on things here & hence the silly questions.
Well, yes the projector lens needs to be protected from dust particles etc so it has to be built/fixed in to an assembly....but when we retro fit,we can fix it into our existing halogen dome.

Last but not the least, what's bi-xenon projector (or HID)? How's this different from the regular ones?
Regular HID's are ONLY SINGLE BEAM...these are the most common ones.Vehicles equipped with this use a separate halogen setup for HIGH BEAM.
When regular HIDs are fixed into a projector,in order to provide a proper cut off for low-beam(i.e not to let light spread all over unevenly) the projector has a small solenoid that cuts off the beam at a certain angle so that a perfect LOW beam is acquired.
now in a bi xenon setup....the HID's provides a wider spread and the projector again has a solenoid to cut off for a LOW beam BUT...when you apply the HIGH beam...this solenoid opens to provide high beam too....so HIGH and LOW is achieved from the same HID and projector.

The stock reflector is designed for HALOGEN BULBS ONLY....when you put an HID the glare that the reflector emits is way tooooooo much and disturbs the on coming traffic...special types of Reflectors(that look like normal halogen reflector) are there that are made to reduce glare from HID's...but these aren't popular and HID'S best friend always is the projector.

Just compare a car with HID's in its stock reflector and a car with HID-Projectors....you will understand.

I believe that running HID's on halogen domes is as bad as riding without a helmet!!cause the HID's in the halo dome can really blind the on coming driver...what if you are riding through a narrow road...a corner and a vehicle from the other side is blinded for a second...esp if the driver is a bit aged?....its good bye for you man.and hence this setup is illegal ALL over the world.

Nice thread there. As Nano mentioned Bi-Xenon projectors will generally use D2S type of Bulb where the Bulb doesn't do anything to change beams. Its the shield of projector which takes care.

You also forgot to mention the Dual Tube Xenon's available in H4 type but these are not available for projectors

i thought others might have put up more inputs in this thread..
let me explain one more basic factor about HID's.
all must have heard about color temperatures, some have no idea about what it means.

here's how HID bulbs with different color temperature looks in real life..

the best color temperature regarding lumens is 4300k, its almost white, but with a slight golden tinge..
