I had plans of Projectors + Halogen on my CBZ Xtreme since an year, I did lots of research but the technical aspects get bounced on me. So I am back to square one.

I am planning this kind of setup on my CBZ Xtreme (7000kms more to go out of warranty period ).

My setup doesnt include HIDs, I want into be be simple two projector setup, one for High beam and another for low with 55W bulbs on both. Already having Night breaker on my Xtreme which does wonders whenever I operate "PASS" switch. Except the Headlight and Meter console lights, every thing else is on DC on CBZ Xtreme.

So the expert here might have already understood what I require here.

Two projectors + Two Halogen bulbs + DC Supply using PASS button (No need of much of electrical mods)

Can any of you tell me if this is practical? And can this be done?

I am already in the process of arranging the projects from Skoda Octavia from a junk yard.

I dont want to go for HID's because I don't want much complicated (for my knowledge) electrical setup on my bike and it must be easy for me when ever I want to change the setup.

If required later, I will go for coil rewinding and full DC conversion.

Currently, My whole bike runs on LED bulbs barring the headlight. Battery has never been problem with extra LED Brake light strip and Bosch root horn operating.
Later on I would be removing the Braked light LED strip and thinking of flashing tail light system instead of constant glow (as seen on BWS S1000RR).

    Guys...
I will be a going for a Chinese Bi-xenon Proj+HID for my FZ but i want to know if there will be a significant improvement over a OSRAM NB 55w+stock reflector?
will it be worth the 3-4k?

and will a projector WITHOUT a shroud affect the light output?

    Thank you

Do i need to convert it to DC ?
Are there diff type projectors for h4 ?
projector will spread good light in compare to stock one . right ?

    Hi Puneet..
No, I havent tried calling or emailing them. Would do as soon as I discover my requirements .
What you have pointed out is correct.. It would require heatsinks, optics and drivers.. But did u notice the output in lumens? It was about 700 lumens for the stock headlamp of the hayabusa, and it was more than 3000 in the modified one. And that too, with only 5 LEDs.. Agreed, it can't be used as high beam, but as low beam, it would do wonders.. Even if we were not to replace the low beam and use it instead of the pilot lamps, we would still get a good output .. Besides, CREE has some distributors in India itself... So, the LEDs, optics and heatsinks might be available in India itself.. Check out www.cree.com

And yes, HID + projector is undisputed as of now because of its immense value for money. I just wanted to bring such high power LEDs to everyone's notice...

A lot has been said and done about HIDs, but no one was looking at LED options. I was doing some googling on my own, and I came across some lighting options in LED that can be viable for bikes. Unfortunately, these might be very costly in India or may not be available at all... Meanwhile, you all can have a look at the links that I am posting :

in mumbai i saw high powered torches with approximately 15-20 LEDS with a reflector for each... i think that can be used in the bikes with the reflectors...

    Thanks.
Also the charging rates too. Being on stock coils, check for the city drives and b2b traffic as it can drain the batt in no time with a mean coil, its my assumption though.

A 3 phase RR will work by leaving one of the input wires open and its as good as a single phase RR by logic. But I was suspicious about the output when I was about to choose RE RR with a single phase coil.

Anyways congrats to u man for finding another econo DC conversion method.

    DC for RTR

I was kind of board with my pathetic RTR head light and the system it used for the entire electrical setup. I was looking for a decent headlight setup via DC and which should be HID & 55Halogen ready. I tried different setups, and in process I lost almost 2000 bucks but not satisfied, I always feel poor pickup, horn problems when using H/L through DC, curtsy my TCi ignition system and poor TVS battery. Our dear member DRVMTM helped me a lot and it was him who shows me the way how to do it.

In general everyone here used to convert their bikes into full DC using an APE RR unit plus coil rewinding, which is a great option. Even once I opt that route, but somehow I failed due to poor workmanship of the coil builder and I lost my patient, for the next few months I was stop thinking about DC electricals, but I could not resist the call of better light and again jump into it few days ago, and the success came finally and I am still in the final checking mode, and checking the electricals day in day out basis. But touch wood it still works fine.

The process is simple, I didn’t rewind the coil, it is still stock (4 coils for charging and 4 coils for lighting) I just discard the stock RR unit and install a 3 phase RR unit from an Indian bike. The charging rate has increased and now the battery provides a flicker free headlight and horn. I tried all the DC electricals at the same time and there is still no problem. The point here is this total conversation is done only using the stock charging out put of the coil, and the lighting output of the coil is still leave as it is, Which can be used for a secondary fog light. I have tried 55watt to without any problem, now I am looking for HID kit, which will be my last step for my better headlight.

Will post some pictures after HID installation.

    Now the cost part:

3 phase RR unit cost Rs.750.00
Cable and other small eqps approx Rs. 100.00.
    Labor cost: Self satisfaction.
