@Puneet - Appreciate your patience in helping me understand basics. Thanks.

Looks like this is a good option then than BiXenon isn't it?

Fantastic info; this helps me a lot in understanding. Tks.

Hmmm...not sure how to check this. May be rev & check the output from RR unit using a multimeter?

Pardon me, if this sounds silly because I'm talking only from a logical perspective & not actual Physics.

Lets say, I take a separate battery of 8 amps exclusively for my HID setup. Keep the existing wiring on undisturbed; wind coil in the existing generator so that it charges the existing 5amps or 2.5 amps battery as well as the new 8 amps battery.

Take another line from the generator (wound up) & feed into another RR unit that makes 4 amps at 4K RPM for charging the 8 amps battery & use it for HID.

What're the flaws in the above approach?

PS - If I've not stated anything clear, pls point out, I'll break down further.

    EDIT

so in general a 35w hid/halo/anything will consume 12v and require totally 2.93 amps (stabilized).
    Buddy isn't it Watts/Volts = Amps?

How do you account for these type of coils w.r.t charging, relay & points?

It is the stator coil that has windings and needs to be rewinded with thicker wires.

We replace the AC/DC combo RR unit with a DC-only RR unit. Normal charging rate for the stock electrical system is about 1A. We need about 4-5 times of that.

I think ZMA's got DC circuit, not sure though.
    Also, it's got 7A battery.
Would it be sufficient or it will need an upgrade to 9A battery?
the 7ah battery is more than enough to handle a 60/55w halogen and/or an hid

Aah!!! Just wanted to touch base on this topic before the amps. Thanks for that.
    Questions
    1. Why does the entire motorcycle needs to be on DC?
    2. I know horn, turn lights & one line to rear lamp is DC, while other line & head light is AC. By "full" what all are covered by DC in addition to these?
    3. Higher rate of charging, I can understand, but how much? Is there a thumb rule as how much of output is required by generator to charge it?
    4. How about fitting another additional battery exclusive for this projector & HID?
    5. Last but not the least, I've an option to fix a HID or a Halogen bulb to a projector. Right? If yes, I can fix any amount of watts right?

Also is it some kind of lens or something that comes with an ordinary 60/55W Halogen bulb. If one requires more bright (in terms of white light), they need to fit a regular HID?

    Hey,
That was 6 month old story man.
A guys here in xBHp (Puneet1) is offering bi-xenon with projector lamp.
Looks street legal set up to me.
You can contact him at Puneet1

He does it in Mumbai it seems, so should not be a problem for you as you are in Pune.
I am planning to get it fitted on my Karizma when I plan to visit Mumbai.

Let me know if you do it successfully.

so basically if anybody wants to fit a hella micro de with hid it will cost 2.8k for the hella and 2.4 for the hid.... but that is better than a projector and hid in terms of cut off and glow...

Will check the album; So if I understood right, the HID is fixed inside the projector; the projector is fixed inside the existing dome. Correct me, if my understanding is incorrect.
    true !

Have a vague understanding that the light would be too much & it is the projector that helps to focus the light properly & limits the brightness.
Projector spreads the beam well and has a cut off above which light does not escape to cause glare to oncomers .

Ok, but how much ampere? What should be the power of battery? Does an Activa's 5amps battery suffice for HID as well as serve the stock vehicle? Or does it require additional 5amps or more battery?
For Activa you will need to make bike full dc and use a rr that allows higher rate of charging .

If I'm not wrong, the pic contains...
    - Two HID's (probably for top & bottom)
    - Wires to connect from battery to the HID
    - Clamp to hold mount the HID's
    - Projectors are missing or not required for Hella Micro DE
thats 2 single beam projectors with halogen bulbs .

    H4 4300k Halogen + hid cost - 2.4k ( Each )

    What's this Holder Type? I couldn't get

The micro de is a h3c holder type. you can just mod a h3 holder and fix it thats what i did .

Is this a BiXenon or a regular HID?

The hella de is just the projector you dont get a hid with it need to buy a hid separately .
This is a single beam regular one .

I thought a projector is always required to fit a HID. Is this something a new funda? If my assumption is right, Hella Micro DE doesn't require a doom & they're a straight fix to the motorcycle & doesn't need a dome to protect the projector lens. Pls help understand!!!

You can fix a hid without projector also.

The mico de doesnt require any doom .

What you need to do is buy a hella micro de and a hid kit and then fix it .

I saw a lot of projectors and most of them in terms of output were sad. Bixenon projectors bulky and big . So i finally got a hella micro de . Its sturdy and the light output is really sharp and neat .

People are spending 5k for Projectors i would suggest check the hella micro de once before spending . Hella Micro de costs 5.5k for a pair .
This is what all you will get in 5.5k

Many guys are looking for external lights with hids they can do something similar . All the below bikes are using the hella micro de.
I have attached a pic what i took few weeks back. Will post some pics in action later.
