        today I went to SC...an SC guy told me tat those parts r covered in Insurance...without insurance it will cost me around 3000 for scratches on visor n 2500 to get a pair of legguard...

            I have decided to Buy Pulsar 180 UG4.. I had been to Showroom to take test drive as well..
            Bike is jus awesome...

            Actualy wht i wntd to ask is... I am frm Bangalore and I went to popular Bajaj showroom on Bannergatta Road..
            they told me on road price for UG4 is 73,980 ..
            Is tht a standard price... bcoz one more show room which is at kormangla has given a price 73,200..
            How much did it cost to u guyz.. any body from banaglore...??

            And if i Buy in 1st week on jan 2010... will tht be a 2010 Model or 2009 Model..?

                • Pulsar 180 UG III Bore piston Replacment.

                  Hi @All,

                  I have a major problem in my Pulsar.

                  Model : Pulsar 180 UG III (2007 Model)
                  On ODO: 35000 KM.

                  There was no problem in the bike till 32000 KM. After that i noticed that the bike was burning Engine oil. There was Black smoke coming out of the exhaust. After i changed the Air filter the black smoke problem was gone but still engine was consuming the Engine oil. PBK SVC mech. said to replace the engine oil Inlet and Outlet valve and the piston ring to check if that could stop the Engine oil consumption. Well the servicing after that I noticed that the bike was still consuming Engine oil. The last option i am left is to replace the bore piston.

                  Has any one else had the same problem in there bikes?

                  Please suggest possible suggestion for this.

                    no way those leg guard could cost 2500rs, i myself checked the price of one legguard was 125rs and two costing 250 rs.

                    different showroom may quote different prices because theyt cut down their profit and reduce price to be into competetion. Go and buy from the showroom where you get lowest quote.
                    the bike will be an 2010 model on RTO papers. and if the bike is manufactured in 2009 then it will be actually a 2009 model registered in 2010.

                    Well!!! no options if the piston rings have been changed, replace piston.

                        for p180-recommended grade is 20w50 JASO MA ratings ...(grade refers to viscocity index of the oil)

                        so the only choice left is either valvoline or motul..i dunno much about ELF bcoz i didnt come across any one who r using this on pulsars
                        i know about valvoline..its a great oil to have 300 per litre
                        and regarding motul 5100 iam awaiting response from fellow member abhi
                        well bajaj is not going to buy me any oil i am just asking a simple question.

                        Well enquired from the dealer they are giving volvoline. for rs 300 plus something more for 200 ml more which is also suppose to be going to put in the bike at the time of the first service. Lets see the performance of this engine oil if i am ok with it then cool otherwise I will switch over to Castrol power 1 20w50.

                        Well I am also going to stick with the engine oil at the time when I get the bike I will not get it changed since that oil is for the bikes first 500 km run. hence i will stick on with it.

                        Few more days and she will be in my hands.

                          Castrol Power1 is 20w40 and not 20w50.

                            My tacho also shows 57kmph @4K RPM +-1-2kmph is tolerable which must be due to a slightly higher(+) or lower tyre pressure(-).
