means ripping ur bike or redlining ur bike..shifting each gear at higher rpm's (>6 or 7k) ..maintaining high speeds over a long time( say over 110 for pulsar)....all the factors count

yes,i had the experience of it...the smoothness lasted for 3 days precisely,it was a great thing to me because..earlier within oneday after the service the engine use to become rough.
    later changed it 5100

      BTW,
What do u use for chain lubrication?
SC guy asked me to lubricate it every once in a week to retain its smoothness n to get the best performance from bike.
How frequent do you do it?
and how to check the tension of chain?
W90 gear oil for lubricating chain. for chain tension there should be 8-10mm of play.

Yes, once SC poured in 20W40 oil and the bike behaved sluggishly.

Do not change the oil Until you feel it is required to, in the sense I feel motul 5100 can last a minimum of 3.5k kms.

I have read about Motul 300v lasting as long as 11k kms in Uni & 6.5k kms in P200 & 7k kms in P150

      Just my 2 cents.
I didnot underestimated MOTUL, Guys, have ran upto 4K-5K KM's even in my friends circle but 2500kms is optimum for oil change in INDIAN BIKES.

        • I have added Castrol GTX 20W-50 last service on my P180 UG3. My mech said it's fine to run on this oil during winter. I wanted to know if it's safe to run on this oil or should I drain the oil and fill motorcycle engine oil?

AFAIK castrol GTX 20w50 is for cars..and it is not recommended to use car oils in bikes..

refer this thread for complete information

Castrol GTX is for CAR's it will cause clutch slippage in your bike.

It is an open chain so some noise is definetly going to come otherwise oil the chain if its making too much noise.
1 inch is normal, if you feel it is alot loose then go to a mechanic and tell him to check chain tension(slack) and tighten the chain if loose.
