  • Painting the MRF in the tyre..

    Guys,

    I wanted to paint the MRF in the tyre, I did this once in my RX. But since my 180 is just a month old; I was little uneasy.
    I had seen my wifey doin her nails so perfect, so with help of her, I did this..Can you give your feedbacks about how it looks..I just did this on my front tyre;
    1. Asian Paints -17 Rupees
    2. Brush - 10 Rupees
    3. Time - An hour.
    Let me know can I go ahead and do the rear also...

    • ^^^ yea...

      i did that to my tyres when i bought my bike about three years ago...

      took me about 90 minutes to highlight ALL the text on the tyre not just MRF.

      looks smashing yea! but it'll only last for a couple of weeks. then.. repaint.

              1. Headlight shaking from lampshade....must of caused by small accident bike had in December...solved now by replacing lampshade.
              2. No reserve...resolved after third replacement of petrol lock. This was the only one genuine issue I faced so far. Rest have caused by SC ill treatment.
              3. Front number plate came off...SC's bad..solved yesterday.
              4. Left split handle started rotating freely...my bad as I pushed(rotate) beyond its limits...solved.
              5. Abnormal back and forth movement by handle bar over potholes...caused by SC's bad...they apologized...solved.
              6. Black dial around lock vibrating...again their bad...it's apparently no longer vibrating.
              7. headlight was focusing in heavens...was solved by my own DIY job...but SC messed up again and this time it's not possible to bring focus down because they have changed the orientation of the whole thing.
              8. Front disk was whistling..SC's bad...but as of now it has given up.

              you see bike is great...it's SC ddabba

                Is that your old P150 behind? I thought it was a blue. Ask your bro to change rear tyre, I don't see any rubber remaining. I never had a chance to ride 220, what's speedos reading at 4k?

                    Yes, that's my 150 Classic, now sold, but still at my home, waiting for delivery. It's Black. It's only in the picture that the rear tyre of 220 is looking BALD. It has still some 4000kms left in it. Speedo reading @4K is some 60kmph-62kmph.

                    • This talk about the 4K rpm reminds me. My speed at 4K went down from a constant of 56k/hr to 53-54 after my first service. I guess they screwed up the clutch setting cause the clutch keeps getting loose after some time. I havent had it tightened and am waiting for the second service.
                      And I have noticed another thing, when i'm riding with the throttle for a particular distance and I slow down (engine breaking, leaving the clutch engaged), I can hear this brief tak-tak noise coming from the right side, somewhere near the chain. Its very brief and usually happens in speeds above 50-55. Anyone else experienced somethig like this?

                          Hey,
                          I have done 1200kms. After crossing 1000, I have been more lenient with the limit in the sense that I do hit 65-70 at times. But usually its 55-60. Prior to 1000 kms, I generally kept it below 60.

                          • Today i gave my bike to the local mech for a wash,returned to my home happily as he did a very good job.After one hour,when i cranked it RPM jumped to 6,7 with phut phut sound suddenly a burst.RPM wont stay idle it fluctuates from 4~6 to 7,its like when you have no petrol.
                            i am assuming that water has gone into the silencer.but after the water service i rode the bike back to home with no probs at all?
                            any guess? backfiring? mech did nothing except a water wash.

                            @abhi: you have a 220? i didn't know that....

                              Looks like the spark plug issue, remove it and clean the wire + plug. Also drain the carburetor petrol by the screw at the bottom of carburetor. This problem happens sometimes when water gets into electricals.

                              Yes, I have a 220 too. My brother rides it and I too ride it occasionaly.

                              BTW, here is the video of Pulsar 180 UG4 fitted with k&n and jets of 220 Dts-i. It's the bike of Akshit. Who is a silent member at xBhp.

                              Thanks to Akshit.

                                I think ...You have Water In Petrol due to high pressure wash getting into the tank through the breather hole.
