Is there a way for me to find out the exact figure of the ratio as well?
Will do that tomorrow. The trouble with Delhi is that nothing is close-by. The last SVC I went to was 11kms away but it took only 20 mins to reach (Noida). This other one to which I'll go to 7 kms away but takes 40 mins to reach (Karol Bagh; waaayyy too much traffic) and the closest one (3kms, 10 mins) SUCKS. They would have put in Castrol power1 in my bike if i went to those buggers cause they didnt know 180 and above require 20W50!

... Nothing is going right. For the 2nd time I went to SC with khat-khat noise complain, and the cone-set was changed. I took the bike and at the very 1st pothole the khat noise was back. A visit to the HELL tomorrow again and this time I will beat down the guy if the noise comes back.
P.S: On inspection (visual) it was found that the lampshade was okay and the cone-set was also okay the mechanic said. Now, tomorrow they will check shock-up, as after the change of shocks oil only the khat noise started.

carburettor carb tuning guide .Originally posted by VD17 View PostMan, Bajaj should REAAAALLLLYYY keep a tab on their svc's.
So the mechanics did adjust my bike's tappets and the engine noise considerably lower now. However, they played around with the carb as well (since I told em it had trouble starting in the mornings).
I got a mileage of 37 last time around, as opposed to 51 prior to it. I am still in the run-in phase so barely cross 60 (have clocked 1020kms).
Is it wise to turn the screw in (the way it gets more lean) ourselves or shall I take it to them?
Also, whats the RPMs when you guys start? Mine in the morning is around 900 (sometimes, the needle goes to zero while the engine is still on) while after warming up, its around 1250-1300. Should I increase it or is this ok? I let it run at idle for 2-3 mins in the morning before the first rev to 3K-4K rpms."Biking is Divine"

is that noise unbearable?
if yes, then go ahead,if no then leave it,you know with indian road conditions all sorts of noise will come into picture,if you go on hunting the source and replacing it then you'll probably end up burning a BIG hole in your pocket.-------------------------------

non-undo-able means you can not revert the settings to stock bike's. Firstly it's very sensitive setting that's why always discourage SC guy to touch that screw beforehand.Originally posted by VD17 View PostYeah, I've read that DIY thread. Thats why I asked.
This AFR setting has always been somewhat off in my bike, from what I reckon. When it was new, mornings would be miserable. Everytime I told them, they just took a screw driver and rotated it outwards, not bothering to retune the carb from zero.
am thinking of taking it to a Castrol bike zone to have the carb tuned from scratch. These bajaj jerks just want to get done with the work ASAP.
And lockhrt, what did you mean by its not undo-able? I mean the AFR can be corrected by anyone who knows how to, right?
By adjusting it you might get better or worse ratio but never the same even though you retain same number of threads inside carb.
Exactly. !!!!Originally posted by ceasar View PostRELAX

That's what happened me last week. 500 rs in vain. instead of fixing that sound they returned with more horrible version of same sound
along with three brand new sounds

Some vibration sound coming from inside headlight at 4.5K. Front disk whistles even there isn't any girl around.
I utterly regret about my last visit to SC.
HERE'S MY VERDICT ABOUT BAJAJ : BIKES ARE GREAT UNTIL SC RUINS IT PURPOSEFULLY. IF ANYBODY'S BUYING BAJAJ I WOULD SUGGEST THAT BETTER OFF FINDING GOOD SERVICE CENTER BEFORE BUYING. THOSE GUYS DON'T MIND SCRAPPING EVERY ANOTHER BIKE. BIKES ARE GREAT IT'S THE SC CULPRIT.

bikes are no doubt great and SC ruins it purposefully,I ordered my bike and that SC guy rode it all the way for 90KM as they were out of stock of 180s(ug3),i am sure as he is born that he must have ripped him like anything on the highway, and there you go all the break-in laws are broken.
They don't even know which is the recommended oil grade for 180s,for the first service thy poured in castrol 15w40,2nd free service the same thing happened, and third service they didnt pour any OIL,what the F&&%*?
as soon as all the free services are finished i shifted to CBZ,and they are doing an excellent job, although they charge a little higher the service they provide, and the courteousness they have make it worth every penny.
AND not all CBZs are good,I've choosen a good one.-------------------------------

Frustrated by the poor SVC, I went to my local mechanic for the khat-khat sound issue. He opened up the front shocks and found that there was 50% less oil in the front shocks and that was the cause of khat-khat noise, the spring was banging with the surrounding metal body. It was'nt surprising for me as I had requested for the change of shock-up oil at 9000 kms service. So, bottom line is "The SC guys changed the shock-up oil but drunk half of the oil into their stomachs". Once I thought of going to SC and beating all of them down to earth, but I am too lazy to go there once again and do all those headache causing stuffs. So, let it be as it is I said to my mind and happily enjoyed the ride with new shock-up oil.
Now, after the normal oil level is attained the khat-khat noise is gone and the handling of bike is better than before. A tad head-down for Bajaj SC.
Thanks.

I have also become very lazy SC again again. My bike has already spent a week in SC in this month.

Yes, its tiring job, going there and especially speaking to them and hearing the nonsense replies from them. Like a normal reply from them 'Saar, yeh aawaj toh sab bike mein aati hai' (reply when I complained about the lock noise (that thing which comes out and goes in to lock, you know)). Also a common reply 'Out of Stock' is always ready on their Tongues or you can say that there tongues does'nt feel relax untill, they say, out of stock line to customers, oppss... sorry.. not customer.. they think that we are DONKEYS.Originally posted by lockhrt999 View PostROFL

I had to visit to SC today...didn't have any choice as the front number plate came off and I didn't have the exact screw needed. They left this number plate loose during lamp shade replacement process. Well, I knew it was loose front the start but couldn't have guessed that it would come off so early.Originally posted by abhichotu.abhi View PostYes, its tiring job, going there and especially speaking to them and hearing the nonsense replies from them. At SC many things happened. I gave the list of some issues that I had been facing to manager. Manager started, 'ye aisehe hota hain, wo waise hi chalata hain, hame jyada technical knowledge hota hain etc,. '. I lost my cool, 'Aap ko kuch bhi tech knowledge nahi hai, wo sala mechanic lampshade ko conest kehata hai or 4th servicing main uske baap ne oil change kiyatha kya?...Aap customer ko kya CHUTYA samajate hain kya?' . After using word chutya he became serious and started showing a little concerned about the matter. He asked me to come back on Sunday he would keep gates open for me and would do a complete check up from scratch all by himself.

You made right comment on them, the are all C*****. And yes they do think that customers are all C******.
Could you tell the list of issues with your bike? Might be that they are normal niggling issues with Pulsars. If you could tell then I could tell you as my bike has some hell of nigglings even with the sanest of riding.
