  • Also the service interval is 5000 km which is real bad for the bike.Bajaj did this by increasing the oil life to 10,000km.
I think the bike should be serviced every 2500-3000 kms .I suggest all new 180users to do so. The older 180s(ug4 itself) had service interval of 2500kms.

      wow... i've had a P18OUGIII since December 2OO6.

i've never really "calculated" the mileage on it...
but as far as i can tell i've never managed getting more than 30 kmpl.

iThink i need to try riding below 6K RPM.

I get my bike serviced every 1200-1500kms. No problems in that. Though I am surprised to see the 5K kms service interval of the bike.

You own a 180 aka Ninja. So, the mileage @ 30kmpl is good.

same here... 3.5 years down the line and i still service my bike every 1200kms.

it does make a big difference.

well actually i got 30 kmpl before January this year... ie: before i went lime green.

mileage hasn't really changed since then.

it's prolly got more to do with me changing gears at high RPMs.

it's what the P18O is all about.

            • Hi there... glad do be among P180 owners... i myself own a blue P180 UG3 - 2008 model. love my bike . . . i just recently happen to replace my rear tyre... MRF VYDE 120-80 17". on doing so i've realized that the bike handles slightly different from before. i feel there is a compromise in the grip of the front wheel. while entering corners there is an issue regarding the balance. i feel is a dip too suddenly i might loose balance slip and fall. my opinion is to change to wider front tyres as well... but the forks and mudguard don't allow for this option. i'm kinda in a dilemma at the moment. pls share your views.

                Welcome...
about your tyre thing : I think UG3 has squire type tyre and UG4 has roundish so maybe difference is there...anyway why didn't you change front tyre as well?

                • Look how dirty my bike has become...I have really given up on cleaning ...one more thing I have learned so far that if I try to clean this dirty with dry cloth the paint and polish are gonna suffer a lot...car shampooing is must....waiting for rain to stop

                  • ^^^ yikes!

well.. the best way to ensure is to pressure wash (water only) the bike...

if u ask on of the guys at a bike-wash to just spray down the painted parts of ur bike with water...

                    he'll charge u 10 bucks or so.

and then u can do the rest urself... shampoo, bubble bath et all.

Yes my previous tyres where square compared to the present rounded ones (VYDE 120-80 17")... i did plan on changing my front tyre as well but as i mentioned... i did not foresee the problem with the forks and mudguard not being able to house a wider series of tyre... apparently the present stock tyre (2.75 - 17" zapper fs) fits just right anything wider will be in contact with the mudguard .

also i've noticed the front forks of the P180 is smaller compared to the P200 or 220... is this true or just my imagination?
i would prefer not to change my forks just yet... if there is a possibility of fitting slightly wider front tyres by just replacing the mudguard within a less than extravagant budget i'd be happy.

p.s. i hope u don't think i'm crazy with all this changes i'm trying to make on an already great bike... the reason is that i like to add a different sense of character to my machine... not sure how else to explain that.

                      • @lockhrt:

The bike really needs a wash. That's really dirty. Pressure wash actually if not done properly leaves\produces more scratches on the bike.

ur bike looks mean dude..dnt wash..black dirty bikes have looks too.
                          @ phantom:
i would suggest u change front tyre to R15.its rounded, and THE most grippiest tyre available here. It will fit without mods too.

I just bought a pair and stuck it on the tank scoops.And.....it looks like sh*!t..
                            wasted 130rs..tore it off
im looking for some sticker for the scoops..any ideas?

Ah yes... The R15's 80/90-17 Zapper FY seems like a good suggestion. i need to go the showroom and see the difference to my stock 2.75 - 17 Zapper FS...

BTW i don't quite understand these 2 different measuring units... "80/90" and "2.75" how do we compare which is broader and taller...??? i mean wat is the theory behind this "2.75"...

@wingrider... regarding stickers, how about the xBhp logo stickers? i'm sure it'll look good on the scoop... or a custom sticker like... how the P200 has "OIL COOLED" but only make it "AIR COOLED" in the same font and style... At a quick glance ppl wont realize the difference.
