  • Hello friends. First time in P180 section. Actually, there is a problem with the digital meter of my brother's P180 UG III. There is some sort of loose connection I think.

    The complete digital meter console goes blank from time to time and restarts again and again.

    The SVC guy told that there's a problem with the blue socket which is just behind the headlight console. He said if he found that any 2 wires are coming in contact he'll repair it, or else the entire wiring has to be changed which will cost approx 1200 Rs.

    Should I give him the bike for entire wiring replacement or is there any other solution to it ??

    Any idea to what the problem actually is? Did anyone experienced a similar problem.??

      well if they've ascertained that there's nothing wrong with the digital speedo console
      then the next thing they'll check is the wiring harness.
      if they find out what's wrong and repair the break then it wouldn't cost u 1200 bucks...
      just the repair charges.

      the SVC guys will just check the wiring superficially...
      n also the connecting plugs...
      their next step would be changing the entire wiring harness.

      if your bike is out of warranty...
      and if the SVC guys have assured you that theres nothing wrong with the digi-speedo console itself...
      then i'd suggest you ask your local mechanic to check the wiring thoroughly.

        There is no need of replacing the whole wiring harness. Just check the wires and socket that are powering the DIGI console. Go to a local mechanic and tell him to check for those things I have listed.

              Congrats n welcome to xBhp...
              what color is it? n post some photos as well...
              and don't rev engine beyond 4000 RPM or 50 kph for first 2000 km...keep changing gears always...In mornings when you start the bike pull the choke for 20 seconds before riding...have a perfect running-in.

              • yesterday I put holy Motul 300v FS in engine as previous 5100 was pretty dead(used it for 4k kms)...This 300v is greenish like predators blood . Lets hope it wont leak.

                      yeah sure 'll keep its needle under 4k rpm for ma run-in period..

                        AFAIK, both the tyres are equally good. Zapper are not so great, so no chance for shifting from IRC. Stcik to IRC.

                          are you still using w30 oil?...man as you cruise a lot you should use motul 300v 15w50

                            I have never heard about using oil for cleaning, I guess it will catch a lot more dust.
                            get that yellow non static cloth for daily dry cleaning...you can clean it with little water once in a week.
                            Have you removed all those plastic covers? if not remove them ASAP.

                              what's the average life of bike's tyres? today I inquired about a nice looking Pirelli soft component tyre it was available at 2.5k
