A BIG No! That method is tried and tested on higher displacement bikes, whose engines are 1000 times robust then our bikes. Better try only the company recommended method. Donot let the RPM go above 4K in 1st 1000kms and keep the RPM varying in each gear.Originally posted by chamu_666 View PostGuys, can you please let me know, is it good to follow the Steps given in the above link??

It's your choice, whether you want to experiment on a 80,000 INR bike, or you did better follow the trusted route that most of the riders follow. I would better stick to the manual.Originally posted by chamu_666 View PostThanks Abhi.. Before seeing your post I was going thru this http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/universa...methods-1.html

I've had a P18OUGIII for about 3.5 years now... have a few questions.
These question are Pulsar 18OUGIII specific.
1. After how many kms do I need to change the rear shocks?
(they seem a bit "soft")
2. Has anyone used P2OO rear-shocks on their P18OUGIII?
Feedback???
3. And... has anyone changed their P18OUGIII electricals to full DC like the UG4?
If so... What exactly do I need to change if I want to convert to full DC using OEM stock Bajaj parts?
Hoping I get answers!

It depends on how much abuse it has taken, Do you ride it on harsh road conditions regularly? My ride is 3.5 years p180ug3 with around 35k on odo, The shocks dont seem like they need replacement. I've heard the shocks become too hard and dont absorb shocks well that is when u need a replacement.
2. Has anyone used P2OO rear-shocks on their P18OUGIII?
Feedback???
My friend has put a P200 rear shock on his 180, there's not much of difference in fact there is no difference at all, both feel the same. He bought a P200 one because that is powder coated fully black, If you are replacing then you can very well go for a P200 shocks.
3. And... has anyone changed their P18OUGIII electricals to full DC like the UG4?
There is no direct way of converting to full DC, you have to change number of components, Check out the thread Convert your AC/DC bike to full DC for more details.
If so... What exactly do I need to change if I want to convert to full DC using OEM stock Bajaj parts?
Hoping I get answers!

I may not be correct but I think all three 180, 200 and 220 have same rear shocksOriginally posted by xionite View Post2. Has anyone used P2OO rear-shocks on their P18OUGIII?

K friends ! I have done 450 KMS with p180 now ! Calculated mileage on reserve to reserve basis twice. Itz 50. I even double checked it ! I cant believe it ! I have few questions ..
1. When can i give my bike for first service? It has crossed 450 kms now !
2. Should i change engine oil? If so what engine oil should i use ? I am living in chennai. So suggest me some oil available here !
3. P180 UG4 has a saree guard but did not have a foot rest (useful for my mom who sits single side ! ). Is it possible to get it ?
4. What other things(like carb tuning) and other things i should take care of during the first service ?
5. How often should i lube the chain ? PLease tell me the exact procedure and requirement for cleaning the chain ..... Awaiting 4 reply !
