Just a peice of suggestion if you like to take as you reside in delhi,
You may get your next service in Suman Autos, the Only bajaj dealer in Noida, may be you find service not up to the mark, but they take care of bikes well.. atleast i got positive response from them, regarding engine oil, they use Valvoline 4T 20w50 the recommended Oil, i m still running comfotably. crossed 1300 as of now.. not a single pin of problem
Try it bro.. wonder if you get satisfied with the service, else go for castrol Bike zone SVC they are quite responsive, specific, gentle and atleast listen to you....

Let me know if you need any help..
thanx for the suggestions bro, but, having driven for close to 33000kms on my discover in NCR in the past two years i happen to have been to almost all prominent service stations and the "ever dissatisfied" nutcase that i am, im never satified with anyone of them
when i was in noida, had been to suman bajaj, above average in terms of bajaj service station but thats about it. cannot solve problems beyond the regular carb tuning or clutch adjustment..
as for castrol, the one near timesjobs, used to my favourite haunt when i used to stay in noida :P the guys there are dexterous, if you know what you need to get done, they will abide and do a good job. but if u let them be, then they screw ur bike slowly and softly, ensureing you dont notice immediately, but u keep buying spares and keep coming for repairs in a phased manner. but they are still the best i wuld say, if you have time to stand there and get it done. (btw, they too pour active w40 in pulsars unless you insist, this is a year old observation though, dunno about now)

completed ironhide's first 1000 kms today odo reads 1007kms
will get motul this weekend to finish off the last phase of runnin-in

              • As i got information from this thread about Engine Oil Grades,

i went to Bajaj sc , to check oil , They use Servo 20w40, in all bikes? when i insist about 20w50 ,They said "We use servo only and its best for all Pulsar"

How can they use wrong engine oil ?

                ITS A SLOW POISON

i said so though the ambe bajaj svc in okhla proclaims they use w50.. there is no way to verify.. i go there coz they have a fully functioning co testing machinbe and something that looks like a dyno :P and also since its new, they try to listen to your problem..

BTW, i will be going to get Xw50 motul for my p180 this saturday anyone, from south delhi, willing to join in is most welcome

Just had a talk with Bajaj mechanic about 'Gas leaking sound', he said that its a normal sound that comes due to expansion of metal at higher tempreatures.

You will have to bear the 'Neutral' not slotting problem till 3-4K KMs and then after that too only 50% of times you will get neutral on 1st attempt.
That's not a problem but its a 'True Nature' of BAJAJ bikes. No matter if it is a P150 or P220 or P200 or P180 all of them have notchy nature when it comes to gearshifts.

                        Thanks for u reply brother.

Actualy not finding netural is not the only prblm with gears...
Gear shifting has become very hard.. and sometimes things get stucked up between 4 th and 5 th gear... tht realy pi$$ me off..

I guess this is time to do some lubrication... i remember how smooth it was th very next of delivery ..

As the bike has completed nearly 1000kms(my assumption), from the last service and that too was a run-in period, in run-in period following problems definetly appears, but, they are not actually problems just a phase of run-in:
                            1) Engine getting excessive hot.
                            2) Gears not slotting.
                            3) Harder than ever gearshifts.
                            4) Engine Harshness.
                            5) Varying RPM.
and the list might increase or decrease upon the issues faced.

so, be calm and let the Bajaj SC do their job. Just tell them about the problem and almost 70-90% of the problems will go away with changing Engine oil only.
