hi guys . im really pissed with the crappy oil they have given frm the svc at first service..have decided of chaging it.
i went arnd whole of karol bagh & okhla (auto hubs in delhi) lookin for a 20w50 oil..
NOT ONE !
strangely not one shop could cater to me :O all of them had either 20w40 oils or gtx/gulf car oils with rating 20w50 which they were tryn to push sell to me.. i wonder what the innumerable pulsar owners i see on the road have been using all these days.. how can there be no demand for a 20w50 mineral oil when there are so many pulsars on road??
if all of the owners have been using wrong oil all these years, no wonder pulsars need engine work done on them pretty early.. Cant blame bajaj completely for that..
please guys, tell me where can i get hold of some good e.oil in delhi?
i want to change tomorrow.

It depends state to state. (as road tax defer) in NCR it cost me 70016 (On Road), while in delhi u may find it between in 65000-67000.. so dont worry for price index.. its already wise decision made..

After availing all four free service,i decided to service this time at Castrol Bike Zone. In short,they've done an excellent job, way better than bajaj's $hit.Very patient,no rough talks.It cost me only 260INR.My bike is performing a hell lot better.
only one issue is bothering me,after the service,the engine is heating up very quickly,i suspect that it is AF issue,is it?-------------------------------

A sticker would do the job. I too have one and its safe till now.(7months). About engine oil, try to go to BAJAJ SC and ask them to give VALVOLINE PREMIUM. Here i enquired in 3 svcs, my one had idp or something, one refused to disclose (very rude people) and one had no clue all they could say, is, that it is company recomenbded oil..
the strange thing that i realised during my search was that almost all the big dealers have only w40 oils or they try to sell gtx(w50) which is a car oil because according to them there is no demand for w50.. how is that possible when we have soo many pulsars on road??!!!
does that mean everyone uses wrong oil?! no wonder most pulsar engines need overhauling after 20k.. what else do you expect when everyone runs on non-optimum oil ratings...sad

Ok, then the easiest option available is CASTROL ACTIVE 20W50 oil, easily available infact very easily. & you are true about the fact that almost all of the normal SC(not PBK) are filling wrong grade oils. Even my 180 has gone through it before in its 2nd service(i guess!).
If properly maintained then Pulsar engines can do more. But, i have yet to meet a Pulsar owner whose bike is in excellent or even fair condition in my region. All the Pulsars i have seen needed overhaul despite of the fact that they clocked only 30-40K KMS on ODO. And the condition worsens when i see that many 1999 CBZ's and my cousin's Splendor have clocked 80K+ KMS without overhaul and in a good condition.
But, i think that my Pulsar is going to break that record atleast in my region.
