My question is,should i take it to the service centre itself to set it right or is it okay if i do it?.I know the idle screw and that i should adjust it only after the bike is warmed up enough. Also Is the right rpm 1200 on cold and 1500 when warm?.Also tell me if there is anything else that i should do or look for when doin this.
There is nothing wrong wit rpm. It is fine. The bike on cold starts needs a bit of time to settle the idle rpm to 1000.

I am really sorry that i did not include one important info, its that the bike does not start on the first attempt. It takes 2 or 3 attempts for the bike to start.Still even after the bike starts, if i give the throttle a bit it stalls sometimes. Before this the bike used to start on a single attempt and used to idle at 1200 on cold start.

        • Hey guys,

I have a pulsar 180(2006 model analog meters and alloy wheels, all black) and I wanted know to tighten the clutch cable. I feel there is a bit of free play when I depress the clutch. I looked at a couple of videos in youtube. One way is to move the screw near the lever, but in my bike its already moved to the extreme right, also I noticed that in my bike moving that screw makes no difference. Another way is at the other end where the cable is tied and the nut needs to be loosened and the cable pulled and nut tightened again. But in case of pulsar I noticed that at the other end its not cable tied with a nut. The case of pulsar both ends of the clutch cable have the cylinderical metal thing welded. So how can the clutch be tightened in this case?

          Thanks in advance!

Castrol Power 1 if 20w40 donot use it as the recommended grade is only 20w50. Use Valvoline 20w50 or Motul 5100 4T 15w50 or Motul 3000 15w50 or Motul 300v.

              • [QUOTE=abhichotu.abhi;581554]Sorry, but if I were you I would not have bought that helmet. I think that is a motocross styled one. Rather go for normal helmets.

aha.. agree with you Abhi . After trying out with this helmet, seems it is not fit for me. Just bought LS2. Amazing it is. Will post pics shortly

Recommended grade is 20w50 only. Don't attempt to perform DESI experiments with your bike. Motul 3000 is mineral oil costing 200-250 Rs, Motul 5100 is a Semi-synthetic oil costing 450-500 Rs, Motul 300V is a Fully synthetic oil costing 800-900 Rs, Valvoline premium is a semi synthetic oil costing 300-320 Rs.

Best is Synthetic oil than comes Semi synthetic and thereafter Mineral. Mineral matches probably most of the normal Indian riding conditions. So, if you change it every 1500kms than use Mineral oil. That's what I do.
