Already the mechanic had warned me at the Bajaj SC that brakes have been on their last few kms, I ignored him. Now, the rear brake is as good as no brakes. I have a few 500kms trip in coming days and NO time!! I mean NO Time to get the brake pads changed. Let's see how happy is the GOD with me living on Earth?

Guys, do check the usable range of rear brakes on your bikes too. There is a indicator for that on the rear wheel drum.
16.5K seems like a decent enough life, right? Mine has barely eaten up 20% of it after 7200kms. I guess the traffic here is easier... usually let the engine gently brake the bike before arriving at a stop light.

May be but not what I expected it tobe. I don't know how this happened as on my last Classic 150 the brake pads lasted a good 30,000kms before change. I seriously think that Bajaj have reduced the quality of their parts in the process of keeping control over bike's price.

        • @abhi -- i've altered the clutch spring/.tks for the video..
Now the gear shifting has become a breeze and also i noticed a marginal increase in the pickup too ... ideally what should be the freeplay ?

I referred to the manual it said that 2-3mm of minimum play should be there with a maximum of 10-15mm.

            • Hi all, my classic pulsar's light is very bad for a motor bike..I cant literally see anything while driving..Long time i use to had the halogen bulb in it which was well lited but then the heat generated by the halogens melted the reflective doom inside. Now i have the OEM bulbs, but the situation is pathetic. Can we replace just the inside of the whole doom?Any idea on this for anyone?Which light do you guys suggest for the classic pulsar doom... I mean any good bulbs which can really lit without replacing the doom?

You can try out Ambassador reflector. Some guys have done that and running 90\100W bulb in their Pulsars. But, then for a 100W you need to rewind the coil too.

                  • today visited s.c to tight my bikes chain. then s.c guy told that it must clean and sprayed. actually there was not enough dust, bike was just away from 2nd service, only two weeks. but gave it for cleaning thinking that it will b good for bikes teath. watched their cleaning process, they just washed the chain using the same machine for bike cleaning. then water particles r sprayed away using a compressor. then bike started . changed to first gear, now wheel automatically spins. then sprayed oil using chain spray. work finished just in 10 mins. then they paid 100 for it. is it ok? i think it is simple to do ourselves than spending 100.

They normally charge 60 Rs in my area for chain cleaning with specific machine that is only meant for chains cleansing purposes. Now, you could do that at home with a toothbrush, kerosene.
