  • Hello mates,
I have P180 UG3 and i am facing mileage problem. It is just giving 36-38 in city. I checked the spark plug and it wasnt dry, It has petrol on spark plug.
contacted service center but all the time they just tune it and said this time it will give good average and i have to wait for every reserve to check the mileage and all the time i get 36-38 kmpl.

Mates please guide me how can i get a better mileage. I already clocked 38000 Kms.
Tyre pressure, air filter, spark plug, leakage all are checked every fortnight.

In laymans terms, diesel oil has higher detergent contents to deal with excessive sludge build up and some special anti-foaming agents that are common to only diesels and that might clean a petrol engine so well that it will hamper working. Again I have no proofs, all this GYAN is based on personal experiences and theories read all over.

If its Petrol oil one could use it for short-term, because there are many people I know who are using Castrol GTX for petrol cars in their bikes and running happily (although they did'nt know about consequences and neither do they care). Regarding clutch plates going for toss, one might try it and if clutch slippage found then change it SO SIMPLE, Ain't it?

@jasmine: Clear out the point man, we all are discussing like idiots here and you're still sleeping? Tell us what you did with oil, either you made Noodles out of it or filled your bike's tummy with it.
oh no mate..do u think i will do so?..i was b.c. thats it.
well, coming to the point, not used it yet, because still bike is not covered 4500 kms for 3rd free service. bike is now in 4376kms. now really cofused what to do.
i will go to that shop from where i bought it, and will explain the problem.
will gave them a chance to change it for me

            thinking to do this,
i will give my bike for service at morning, will say them to service my bike, also pour out the used oil, i will bought oil for my bike after some time. then they will give me a time for return, about 12 o clock i think(as they usually says). then i will go there after some more time say about at 2 o clock, to take my bike. then will gave oil which was already there in my bag at morning time
this cheat was to avoid their cheat. during my last service they dont pour out all the used oil from engine and as a result the inspection window was almost with full of oil, this made me to do this small cheat. i think this will b more safe

This is a good thing for ur car engine, but the high dose of friction modifiers in it will cause ur clutch to slip(less performance, and high clutch wear- definitely not a good thing for ur bike)
no. its not. this pack differ from my pack. also it was written like this"for petrol cars". at the back side it was written that "for all petrol engines"

also he remembered me about that motul supplier told.
the supplier told that "now all pulsar guys r purchasing this motul. even we directly supplies this engine oil to the royal enfield show room also."
it was told by the supplier to the shop owner infront of me when shop owner asked him about motul, because here it has no demand among riders. shop owner said that i am the first one asking for this oil

                    • Jasmine, bro, always know that the world out there takes the most pleasure in misleading the gullible. Like Abhi said, it might not do you any lasting damage if you use it for 1500kms or something but oils meant for cars are a strict no for bikes. I was going to quote the same example as Abhi said about Castrol GTX which is meant for cars but still many people use it on their bikes.
Point is, it is simply not the most apt you can get for your bike. You're probably much better off pouring in a Valvoline 20W50 than using a Motul car oil. Mechanics all around the country will try to hardsell you absolute bs if that is all they have. They will deny your problems, they will mislead you and eventually, blame you for a fault of theirs. Each one of us faces this some time or the other.

                      • @jasmine rider,
Dude yesterday when i went to get oil for my pulsar, the shop owner insisted me to buy mobil car engine oil since Motul is out of stock. Everytime when i go there, he tries to sell that mobil oil which clearly specified as car oil. Also said that mobil is the best oil one can get, and it is in good move. Its all their marketing techniques to sell their goods. Just dont listen to them. Ur bike is new and just covered some 4k odd kms. So either use the oil for short time or get new one and relax. Problem solved.

                            8) Front and rear wheel alignment (if required)

Tappets decide the timing of valve opening and closing, so they are one of the important measures for engine to run perfectly. One should set them atleast once every 5000 kms.

                            Thank you very much Abhi
