EDIT: My Bike's done 23k+ km and got the chain sprocket set replaced on the service before the last one and then got the clutch plates replaced in the last service. Thereafter I was facing a problem with the pick-up and acceleration; my bike wouldn't go beyond 5k rpm . The issue was with the carb diaphragm got that changed and bike's back to its original form..

    Cheers,
    Gene
Ohh... so you're back again after a long ERA. Nice to know that you got out of hibernation. What was the problem with carburetor diaphragm? And how much did it cost to you alongwith the cost of replacing chain and sprocket plus clutch plates?

I suspect it comes from shocks or stay. I dont lube the chain excessively and i used to clean oil in the other parts aft lubing. And the sound is a huge 'thud' , is there in my neighbour's pulsar too.
What about the second one , somewhere in the rear grab rail or panel. Cant figure out exactly.
i can figure out u r two problems mate. first one that thud noise comes from main stand when touches some potholes, humps, even in tight corners when slide bike too much. dont u understand that common problem in our 180 yet? i felt it in next day of purchase itself. in corners used to slide my bike too much then comes this thud with a sound screeeeew....... sound. thus people gaze at me it easily appeares when there is a pillion. when there is two pillions then it will b tooooo much. . . but it can b used as a firing show on roads.
our 180 ug4 comes with huge wider tyres. but we cant use its advantage during in corners really i like to touch road by footrest racing screw during tight corners.. i was in full confidence to do that because earlier done it on discovers tiny tires somany times.. but cant done it in our widest zapperrr

then about 2nd problem it comes from u r pillion seat. it will b a bit loose. that makes this very very irritating kid..kid..kid... noice. it will b only in potholes.
just remove u r pillion seat then u can see 2 rubber bushes that touches bikes frame when fit it. just add some sponge or such thing in between rubber bush and frame to tight it. then refit pillion seat. then have a short drive.
i too suffer this problem since the s.c guy ones refitted pillion seat after a service.
      have a look.

I use Motul 300v. I recommend motul 5100 or 300v to you as your bike has clocked 5K on odo.
Although all three are good, there are many differences between them. They get better with higher price.
thanks mate for information. but i think it will change here in kerala.
i will purchase which will they brought for me. it may b mineral, s.s or f.s.
i think its the time to know bikes luck

            • The thud sound on my bike was due to cracked seat cowl.

                3) Carburetor cleaning

                6) Rear shocks gas
                7) Petrol pipes and All other rubber pipes
                8) Front and rear wheel alignment (if required)

Tappets decide the timing of valve opening and closing, so they are one of the important measures for engine to run perfectly. One should set them atleast once every 5000 kms.

This valve train and the one in our bikes differs.

Yep!! correct, that diagram was just for reference, nothing referring to Pulsar or anyother, just an example.

So there is just the rocker arm, right.

API-SG is an old rating only the oil you bought and Petronas have this rating oil still selling in India, Bajaj recommends SL\SM grade oil. Although, no problems now you have bought that you could use it in your bike. But, I suspect it might cause clutch slippage. Anyhow, use it and see.

No, it is NOT. That's for a car which runs a dry clutch.
The only Motul oils we can use are the following:
                            3000 - Mineral
                            5100- Semi Synth
                            300V- Synth
