What i do is ,turn the fuel valve to ON position and when it gets over i turn to RESERVE position and go for refuelling.

I dont see any errors that will be shown by the fuel valve coz it is a simple mechanism without the use of any electricals or moving parts, just two tubes/holes placed at different heights.

what about semi synthetic and full synthetic? I DONT KNOW WHETHER THEY WILL BROUGHT S.S OR F.S OR MINERAL
THINKING TO VISIT ATM BEFORE PURCHASE BUT THERE IS A HUGE DIFFERANCE IN THESE THREE

Hey Abhi, I'm planning to get all these stuffs done on my blacky. Yea, It is nearing 12000 KMs (3rd free service done at 8500kms). I don't believe Bajaj service center guys , that too this is going to be paid service. So thinking of purchasing all the required items and get the work done with a good mechanic whom I know. What say? Anything else need to be added to this "To Do" list?

              Also what is "Tappet setting"?

              Appreciate your help...

                Change only these parts:

                1) Spark plugs
                2) Air filter
                3) Carburetor cleaning
                4) Tappet setting

                6) Rear shocks gas
                7) Petrol pipes and All other rubber pipes
                8) Front and rear wheel alignment (if required)

Tappets decide the timing of valve opening and closing, so they are one of the important measures for engine to run perfectly. One should set them atleast once every 5000 kms.

                • There is a 'thud' sound coming under the seat or rear shocks when driving through potholes. Can anyone say where it is from? Do i need to get the air filled in rear shocks? And also some sound like rear panel is loosened up is always there near tail assembly. Dnt know what is it. Any ideas?

It might be the tool box that is kept under seat. Keep it in a tight place.

                      Mineral : Motul 3000 : Rs. ~210
                      Semi Synthetic : Motul 5100 : Rs. ~500
                      Fully Synthetic : Motul 300v : Rs. ~850

I use Motul 300v. I recommend motul 5100 or 300v to you as your bike has clocked 5K on odo.
Although all three are good, there are many differences between them. They get better with higher price.

maybe the main stand. It tends to become loose because of the excessive oil from chain lube.

I suspect it comes from shocks or stay. I dont lube the chain excessively and i used to clean oil in the other parts aft lubing. And the sound is a huge 'thud' , is there in my neighbour's pulsar too.
What about the second one , somewhere in the rear grab rail or panel. Cant figure out exactly.

Then it is the main stand touching the ground. It's a BORN prone issue with 220 and 180. You could solve that.

How many Kilometers has your bike done?? The sound can be due to dry chain and mud on it.. It also could be if your chain sprocket is gone..

About the other sound.. hmm... Just check if ur tail light assembly has loosened.. Not too sure though.. also check if number plate screws are screwed in tight..

EDIT: My Bike's done 23k+ km and got the chain sprocket set replaced on the service before the last one and then got the clutch plates replaced in the last service. Thereafter I was facing a problem with the pick-up and acceleration; my bike wouldn't go beyond 5k rpm . The issue was with the carb diaphragm got that changed and bike's back to its original form..

                                Cheers,
                                Gene
