no need to remove the glass just remove the rubber cover and the bulb socket and gently twist the bulb to remove it , its a simple job , but getting the fairing off thats the hard partOriginally posted by lockhrt999 View PostKawasaki KB100/enduro/125 substitute parts list http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/508615-post105.html

Highly possible. Have you noticed any difference in the performance?Originally posted by whytryharder View PostHey guys,
During last service I gave my bike and also did the carburettor overhaul. Before that I was getting somewhat low mileage of ~40-42 but this time, its over my head, 30kmpl!
Reasons? Possible that mechanic has messed up the tuning during overhaul or something else?
Alright thanks. I've taken the headlight assembly off tons of times. So no problem.Originally posted by kb100 View Postno need to remove the glass just remove the rubber cover and the bulb socket and gently twist the bulb to remove it , its a simple job , but getting the fairing off thats the hard part

Facing a dip in performance again...Resisting to go above 8,000rpm
Tappet settings - DONE
Servicing - DONE
Replaced Air Filter - DONE
Fuel Pipe Cleaned - DONE
Adjusting accelerator cable - DONE
Oil change - DONE
Checking of clutch plates - DONE ( replaced them 4,500kms ago)
Chain Sprocket change - DONE
Spark plugs have been cleaned in periodic service
(servicing has been performed two days back)
Daily office runs are bit slower these days.
Loss-
Bad pickup. Too slow (NO PUNCH)
FE - 35 to 37 kmpl
No top end
Takes a hell lot to reach 100kmph
Gains-
Very smooth ride in any gear
Cruising at 90kmph is done by engaging 2/4th of throttle
I can hardly hear the engine when iam cruising at those speeds. But just when i raise the accelerator i hear the bike engine noise to unbearable sounds...its too loud...
Has anyone faced this problem too??
Got the rear tire changed recently. Bike has done around 37,000 on the odo.
If you go to see, eveything has been on schedule on my bike...I suddenly dont know the reason behind the dip in performance.
Please let me know if this problem can be solved.sigpic

Nope whatsoever! I recently did Delhi-Nainital-Mukteshwar, where it along with a pillion of 75KGs, me and another 20KG luggage, did 121kmph!Originally posted by lockhrt999 View PostHighly possible. Have you noticed any difference in the performance?
......
Performance was identical earlier as well where I topped out at 135kmph but then, mileage has came down crashing all from cloud nine, from once at 48-50 to now at 30-32.
The only concern!Na tha kuch to khuda tha, kuch na hota to khuda hota, duboya mujhko hone ne, na main hota to kya hota!

Ever happen to tickle the tuning of your bike at SC? Or a carb rehaul?Originally posted by Eshan-P180 View PostFacing a dip in performance again...Resisting to go above 8,000rpm

A new tyre will take time settling in, it will act like this for some time If tuning is still in stock position.Na tha kuch to khuda tha, kuch na hota to khuda hota, duboya mujhko hone ne, na main hota to kya hota!

Tire i doubt, air pressure is firm and correct. Btw its done around 800kms on the odo for the new rubber.
Yes, everything is in stock position. Also this problem has arised out of recent runs (Pre Servicing).sigpic

I will be leaving my home town for my higher studies and wont be returning for another 6 months.I really love this bike.I was thinking about storing the bike for that time but my dad says storing for 6 months is not good for the bike and it is better to sell it.So will my bike perform or be as it is now after it is stored for 6 months or should i sell it?

@ghost11 why not transport the bike? Many of my friends have done that. You could ask the local transporter between the two cities (hometown and the one you are going to) It might be between 1500-3000 Rs if the distance is between 700-1000 kms. Else, sell it off, you will only be reducing its resale value by keeping her for no use and who knows after 6 months you might psychologically think that there is something wrong with the bike, I have seen many people telling when they rode their bike after a long interval.
I too think that the setting is not correct, or might be the mechanic replaced the jets with bigger ones.Originally posted by whytryharder View PostHey guys,

The sound change from nothing to loud like the engine will blast above 8k rpm has been with my bike since day 1. There is nothing bad with that. Dip in performance is what I face after every service or sometimes for no reason. You could try changing the fuel station or tune the carburetor a little richer.. but nothing can be ascertained.Originally posted by Eshan-P180 View PostFacing a dip in performance again...Resisting to go above 8,000rpm

Happened with me sometime ago I was getting 30-35kmpl no matter how I ride and sometimes between 25-30kmpl, last time I asked the mechanic to retune the carburetor and it has brought this mileage thing to an acceptable level of 40 kmpl.Originally posted by whytryharder View PostNope whatsoever! I think it depends on riding style and also how one reaches a particular speed, some of us rip the bike to get to 80kmph and some of us reach that speed slowly but steadily (linearly increasing the throttle rather than opening it up fully or partially.) I bet you know it already, might be that in your region the traffic might be worse. I have got 53 kmpl once and 50 kmpl plenty of times in city with average riding speeds of 32-35 kmph, now this sounds like insane.Originally posted by Eshan-P180 View Post@ abhichotu.abhi

As I said before there was a time when I was getting 30-35 kmpl, its gone now. Try retuning carburetor 3-4 times untill you get desired result or chrck the airfilter if the path is not blocked for air.

.
i dont like to rip hard...i am smoothly reaching that 70,80s..and will stay there in between 70-80 as much as possible.
other things...
1, very minimal breaking
2, proper warm up before every ride..
3, HP pump fuel..
and,
i am getting 50+..
even when cruising in 70,80s...pulsar 180 rocks...
.

Eshan, even i had the same problem where there was a dip in mileage. I was getting around 32 to 35 even under sane riding. I took it to a CBZ mechanic and told him about the problem. He tuned the carburetor and after that I am getting a constant mileage between 40 to 45 kmpl. So maybe u need to get the tuning done. It cost me 30 rs.Originally posted by Eshan-P180 View Post@ abhichotu.abhi

That is something on cards now, might get it done in SVC.Originally posted by surya teja View PostEshan, even i had the same problem where there was a dip in mileage. I desperately need to get it checked regarding average and top speed. But the cruising factor which is present is awesome, i mean you literally hear the engine around 85kmph speeds. Also its so smooth, i mean at 37k kms with no parts changed yet major ones, its quite good.sigpic
