Stability issue
Hello friends,
I own a pulsar 150 UG1, lately I am facing stability issues with the bike.
I noticed the bike swaying, if I leave (unhold) the handle(it does not move in a straight line). If we check the trail of the tyres it is the same pattern as the snake moves. Also when I leave the handlebar the front tire wobbles vigorously.
Friends if anybody of you have faced same issues, please help me diagnose the problem.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
P.S.-- Sorry to post in this thread, but I dont see a lot of activity in pulsar 150 thread, also the bike is same minus engine.

my chain is now showing different slackness in different positions of chain.
.chain is very loose in one position whereas its very tight in opposite direction. what the helll is this
.it makes karrrr sound when it reaches this tight point whereas it touches below rubber padding when it reaches loose point with some other sound.
now chain is adjusted myself in an equilibriuem position where these two sounds are minimal. this chain really sucks...
. i think chain is gone now. this is the indication of chain kaput?
another thing,
anyone tell me how to remove pilot lamps
. pics will be very helpfull. i like to install sid leds instead of stock bulbs.anyone tried this? also like to know how to dismantle head light. i like to install angel eye.
sigpicmy bike is my sign

It's okay to post here buddy. We certainly would love to see more of P150 here.Originally posted by einZiel View PostHello friends,

I think your bike is suffering from bad front wheel/rim alignment and also the cone set might have lived its life.
Is there anyone here whose P180 chain doesn't touch rubber padding found on swing arm? I think it's genuine fault from Bajaj designing team.Originally posted by JASMINE RIDER View Postmy chain is now showing different slackness in different positions of chain.

About pilot lamp removing I'll try to post few pics tonight.
Hmm. Back on track haa?Originally posted by abhichotu.abhi View PostJust returned from a 300 kms round trip. Mileage extracted was 44 kmpl with average speeds of 80-90 kmph.
I've asked you about rear suspension few posts back. Please read it.
Anyway, Remember I wrote servicing report few posts back mentioning that bike has lost small acceleration punch? I think it has to with airfilter. Because that old dusty rusty airfilter which I used for 14K kms might had been resisting the air flow(because it was dusty rusty
) and now air filter is changed, the air flow is increased and probably AFR is now running a little lean. That's probably how the bike lost that punch. Secondly I have also experienced that after few thousands km after servicing that punch always came back. So am I right about this theory?

Here are a few pictures taken during today's trip:

GAS CHARGED SHOCK ABSORBERSOriginally posted by lockhrt999 View Post@abhi: You said that rear suspension works on air + oil. What's the actual; procedure?
Gas charged shock absorbers are essentially hydraulic dampers with the addition of gas under pressure to improve the working efficiency. They are sometime also called 'gas shock absorber'. Only gas cannot be used as damping medium. Oil is a must. Pressurising the shock absorber oil allows elimination of cavitation (foaming of oil) a problem inherent in hydraulic dampers. Elimination of cavitation allows better control at all piston speeds and movements. This leads to better vehicle control, improved ride quality and quicker operation. Hope this helps. I also got it from Net.
Yeah! nice to be back on the Track.Originally posted by lockhrt999 View PostHmm. Back on track haa?

The pick-up issue is not new, this happens with me at every service and probably with all of us.

price of new chain along with sprockets is 1200 only. I changed mine today.Originally posted by JASMINE RIDER View Postmy chain is now showing different slackness in different positions of chain.

So can you tell me how much quantity of oil is required inside them? Now everything has started making sense. Apparently there was no oil left inside suspension as at the time of filling air I accidentally removed the rubber screw and only air leaked outside.Originally posted by abhichotu.abhi View PostGAS CHARGED SHOCK ABSORBERS

Don't know the quantity of oil. I went to 'Khargone' a district, for official work.. work..work... I'm disgusted, almost all of my trips are for work only.Originally posted by lockhrt999 View PostSo can you tell me how much quantity of oil is required inside them? EDIT: Which rubber screw? The oil is filled in the damper. Look at the picture below, the Bajaj Pulsar shock absorber, the bottom golden container (between coil spring) has the oil.

P.S: These shock absorbers are tobe replaced whenever you feel the need.Last edited by abhichotu.abhi; 11-30-2011, 10:53 PM.

okay. But golden container isn't upside down as shown in the picture. I thought we fill oil in the same air canister - that's what that mechanic told me. Also have you noticed that air canisters have plastic caps at the bottom? One from my bike has fallen. Anyway there's another hole filling location (may be for oil).Originally posted by abhichotu.abhi View PostDon't know the quantity of oil. Here, in the picture, please look at the one that designates 'Bajaj Pulsar'. The golden container is'nt upside down in the picture either. These dampers should be replaced only. And also to clear one thing, no PURELY Gas shocks are refilled, they are only tobe replaced and are quite unreliable. The ones we're using are not PURE gas shocks and hence need to fill air.Originally posted by lockhrt999 View Postokay. But golden container isn't upside down as shown in the picture. i am also having same prob wid rear shocks..can we replace the oil?? like we do in front...the mechanic told me that it cant b replaced...we have to buy the full assemblly only...is this true?? we cant do anything apart from that four type setting at the rear shocks??? plz ellaborate.....
Four wheels move the body and two wheels move the soul!

Yes, the only alternative is to change the shocks. Nothing else and they are cheap (IMO only 1500 Rs for one) unlike other manufacturer spares.Originally posted by andy118 View Posti am also having same prob wid rear shocks..can we replace the oil?? like we do in front...the mechanic told me that it cant b replaced...we have to buy the full assemblly only...is this true?? we cant do anything apart from that four type setting at the rear shocks??? plz ellaborate.....

pilot lamp removal is easy provided you have the required tools (phillips/star screwdriver, and a size 10 t or socket ) to remove the front fairing without breaking any mounts you need to remove about 6 screws and 4 bolts to free the visor and i kid you not its easy , as for leds put it in only if you bike is full dc just pull out the socket from the back of the reflector and do the swap , make sure the leds you use are of the samer length as your stock bulbs or they will foul with the front cover ,Originally posted by JASMINE RIDER View Postmy chain is now showing different slackness in different positions of chain.

about the angel eyes im not sure wether its possible as when i checked the whole front reflector and transparent cover assembly was a sealed unit , but in your case you might get lucky and may have a different model with removable parts,Kawasaki KB100/enduro/125 substitute parts list http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/508615-post105.html
