To be honest, this is the best time to get big bucks by selling their pulsars, if they want to.

Why don't you switch to R15's front tire? I think you shouldn't buy the stock again.

The light nastrofaction talking about is called Phillips premium. They provide about 80% more luminance than our 35W. They are really value for money. See to have better lighting one must should tweak the reflector first. With bad alignment even HIDs are not much of the help.
Secondly don't go for white light. They are useless in rainy and fogy situations. Anyway our old school yellow light offer more brightness than white light at same wattage.

If less than 50% of your total rides are at night than simply put H4 Phillips premium inside the headlight and you're good to go. Our huge 9ah battery will provide enough juice to that bulb.

The one sold by osram is called night breaker. It costs approx Rs. 900 and secondly you'll always have to buy it in pairs. They offer a little more brightness than Phillips premium. It offers only a 'little' increment in brightness. At the end of the it's still halogen.

As of now, you should test Phillips premium as they are dead cheap. If you still feel it's insufficient than the only option remains for you is HID. They offer 4-6 times more brightness than current halogens. Installation is not an easy process. Buying and Installing an H4 35W Xenon HID costs Rs. 1500 (china make of course). And if you do so be ready to get cursed by on coming traffic. That's why I'd urge you to install a projector as well. It costs another 100 bucks at least.

Edit: corrected to Philips premium from xtreme.
Basically Philips xtreme = osram night breaker = costs bomb and not VFM
Philips premium = bosch h4 similar alternatives = totally vfm
HIDs = I'd call them vfm for what they have to offer. But if not done properly, they become unreliable.

Probably the SC guys have tweaks the carb on the lean side.
Worry not, I'll post my another DIY job through which I made it a bit richer to have better acceleration punch and reduced overheating at the same time, that too without fiddling with that delicate AFR screw.

Final Quote as 53K considering scratches caused due to the last fall, rest let us see.

Agree with R15 front tire for Pulsar. It works !!!.

          • My method of tweaking AFR.

            Problem
After my last servicing the acceleration was reduced a bit. Also engine was heating (I wouldn't say overheating) very quickly. I reckon the culprit was the new holey airfilter which was plonked in during last servicing. It was letting more air inside to make Air:Fuel mixture more lean.

            Solution
The AFR screw is still at its factory setting so I didn't want to fiddle with it either. That's how I came up with this homegrown trick.

            Take out airfilter.
            Pull the plastic bracket out.
Apply duct tapes like shown in the picture.

Now I had stuck 5 of them at the start but later settled on 4 and stuck that extra 5th duct tape horizontally.
These ducts taps resists freeness of airflow to some extent. More duct tapes richer is the air fuel mixture.

            Result
Now after this job that lost punch has came back. In 5th gear even with slight twist to accelerator bike thumps forward. Meaning responsiveness has increased. Also engine doesn't heat quickly anymore.

Now you would ask about reliability. That photo was taken after my recent 400 km rigorous trip which includes a hundred km of extremely bad roads(actually no roads at all) to ultra flat NH4. I did 110 kph many times with pillion. Tapes were in the same condition as when I put them at first time. Since nothing dramatic happens inside air box nothing to worry about.

About average, After that 400 km round trip, if bike comes to reserve the first thing in the morning tomorrow than it's 42 kmpl. If it takes another 10 kms to reserve than the average is 43. Another 10 kms it's 44 kmpl. So on and so forth. City average will be anyday above 47 kmpl.

You can switch to stock condition by removing those duct tapes. You can't come back to perfect stock condition by tweaking AFR screw method.

Duct tapes is fast, easy and safer method to tweaking AFR screw. The only disadvantage is you can't make AFR leaner using this method.
Anyday, it's very easy to keep track of changes we would do to AFR. "Last month I was running on 5 duct tapes but this month I'm using 4" - see how cool it sounds. lol.

Has anyone done such thing before? I might patent it.

But, I don;t understand one thing if the AFR is on its factory default setting then how come the new air filter make it leaner? If this was the case then it should have also been the same when the bike was new and was having a brand new air filter.

Well I had marked the AFR screw position before 1st servicing. It hasn't rotated once.
It wasn't leaner leaner. Every time they washed the air filter during servicing that accelerator responsiveness was reduced. Bike always had performed better when that air filter got dirty again. . From this I deduced, that bike will run better if I fake that dirtiness.

Air filter should be dry right?

I donno if its a common issue with all 180 UG4.
The problem in my bike is that there is oil seepage from the engine(right side) near the spark plug ....i have complained the same to the SC guys....almost from last 3-4 servicing i had the same complaint...but its still not fixed...after 500kms again there is seepage

A friend of mine also owns the same model and he is also facing the same prblm

Please tell me what cud be the issue, and resolution for it

                              Thanks in advance.

That's kerosene. SC guys must have forgotten to dry it before putting back in. Secondly some gear oil is spread before putting it back in. So anyway it's kinda mixture of both. It's never 100% dry.
