    See the thing is, i want to know if its reliable, i have heard lots of cases in the past regarding engine jamming, block piston problems and so on... Now, can you precisely find out -

    1) How many months or years he has used the filter.
    2) Any major repairs after the filter because of the change or even just any repairs.
    3) What is the top whack, i do not wish to know the seconds but require the speed at which it can be stressed out say till red line.
    4) Precise mileage before and after installing of filter.
    5) Whats the maintenance specifically for the filter ( Clean, lube, How does he do that? costs of maintenance?)

    Can you please let me know the answers to the mentioned questions...
    Also iam not looking for that roar which a K&N gives, but seriously want some upgrades rather than investing in a new bike or other parts...

    @ Jasmine - yes both spark plugs are different. One is 0.7mm and the other is 0.8mm.

    Please stick to one grade and brand, surprisingly the Motul 20w50 Gold and Bajaj DTSI 10,000 are working brilliant...

    About top speeds, i have done 130 downhill. If straights are concerned then redlines would take me somewhere close to 120.. which is same as yours...

      I have gone to 145, but on long sloping stretches. without slopes, somewhere around 135s (obviouly I was crouching)

      happens, once you get comfortable at speeds about 100, 70-80s feel slow or say sleepy

      can not be due to use of any oil, may be get it checked. :-/

        1)he has Now been using the stock K&N filters for 3 and half months, before that universal (which did not give much improvement)
        2)No repairs, it fits egsactly as our current air filter. He also didn't felt need to do jetting, but from few users that I have come across, in some it is required.
        3) will ask and let you know
        4) before - 38-40 kmpl (on highways)
        after - 45kmpl (on highways)
        5)will ask

        I will come up with more details in a day or two

              You mean another 12000 rupees as labour
              Man if you have came with bike here in india then labour won't costed you more than 1000 rupees in private garages & in ASC i guess it would be around 2000 rupees .

                that makes 145 top whack on stock (till now)

                I haven't had rev limiter kick in anytime till now !!! (considering it cuts rev like it does on r15 )
                I guess extra 10kmph were may be because of newer engine

                  Speedo errors means showing excessive speeds. So if its showing 140 you are actually doing 130 - 133ish...

                  If thats the case then the pulsar 220 should kick a CBR 250 Ass at it should clock 160kmph...

                    If you compare the bajaj spares with those of other manufacturers in India you will find them the cheapest and having comparable life span, It was only yesterday when I took my brothers Apache for service and found that the front visor + Mask cost a whopping 1500 RS where as the for the Pulsar it costs around 700-800 Rs only. BTW, What happened? I mean reason of buying all these parts?

                      141 is downhill so doesn't count.
                      Been above 130 many times.
                      But the best part is doing 124 kph in 4th gear at somewhat ~11.3 krpm. Bike vibrates as hell, warning light blinks madly and you can still feel some torque. Heavenly!
                      ^All above is when crouching of course. You won't find any sticker on my windshield because when I crouch I have to look through it.

                      Bike isn't performing the same. I've been using it only once in a two weeks nowdays.

                      Xionite has put an R15 fairing on his ug3 pulsar and he has reached to 148 many times without much efforts.

                        Any ways I had an R15 alongside, which was clocking 148 that time. (Though I don't know how much error they have)

                        Though is your bike allright now ??? we can go for a pulsar spin some day then

                              • its not that good...stock replacement kn filters are better..try to keep it as stock..iridium plugs are good for starting and such things. no performance changes i think.
