Please through some light on good FFE which will be effective in P180.
Also can i replace the stock 180cc piston to 220 or 200cc kit???please advise.
If you want someone to help you with places, you should mention your city/ state first. Atleast mention it in your profile's location field. Please do it now.

Anyways, you can get an exhaust from Joel Joseph, contact him at his mail id: joel(at)raceconcepts.in. About Bigbore, you can get a 210cc kit from Joel for around Rs. 6000-8000 (This is rough idea. Ask him the price personally).

Or get a good exhaust from Automech exhausts in Mumbai. They quoted me around Rs. 5500 for a high performance free flow exhaust but I couldn't get it as mine is P180 UG3, not UG4. I recommend Joel due to his competency, experience and reputation.

K&N BA 2201 should be good enough for slight performance boost, but don't remove or modify the airbox in anyway. Follow instructions on the K&N manual.

UCD 29 Carburetor, I think it is mentioned in the owners manual too. BTW, what problem you are facing?

Its not there in the Manual. checked already.

          1) No pick up
          2) No top end
          3) Low fuel economy
          4) Loss of overall power

The max on an open stretch i could do is 70-85kmph speeds only (redlining)
The mech has advised to change the entire carb stuff... Costing around 2.5k.

Also will a Pulsar 200 Carb fit? since its the same i guess (can you check on that). Antz Bin and Rockrz (Pune Members) and me are going to try to fit a 200's carb with the jet of 180. Pulsar 200 uses a UCAL BS 29 carb.

Bike is giving lots of problems lately and is not performing. I will be checking this thread every now and then so please reply and let me know.

There should not be any problem fitting that carburetor. But do check first if the problem is really due to carburetor. You might have done it already, if not check if the carburetor is choked? Or Check if there is any amount of water in fuel tank, Have you checked the CDI? Is the bike misfiring?

Misfire yes a bit. There was water sometime ago but got that removed and yet the bike does not pull as the way it use too...

Will be taking delivery today... he has changed the spark plugs so i guess i have two days ka time to see if the spark plugs was an issue or the carb is actually the one..

              Chocking is checked too...

Whats the difference between both the carbs? just the brands or engineering specs too??

              • My old Work Horse

I own a 2002 Pulsar 180. Have clocked nearly 90K Kms..had to change the valves and piston rings at around 85K.. have been fortunate not to touch the gearbox or the clutch plates yet....

The old work horse still kicks..awaiting the new 200 NS should be launched next month. Actually waiting for a sports tourer option of the Pulsar 200 Ns with say a 250 CC engine..Rajiv Bajaj hope you are listening

If the problem is with carb then you can clean it. I don't think carb has any decaying part like airfilter which needs replacement over period of time.

I cleaned carb myself. It was easy and fun too. Engine felt like it was new.

Cleaning has been done several times yet there is no change....Overall accelaration has been dropped drastically...

The clutch plates, spark plugs, air filter, tank clean, carb clean, chain sprocket kit all of them have been replaced or performed the ritual servicing.. yet it resists to go above 80kmph...

No I mean cleaning cleaning. Mechanics never open it for thorough cleaning. They only spray inside.

Also decarbonize engine next time when you change the oil.
