Using Motul full synthetic engine oil for my ride.
BTW which will be good engine oil for our 180cc beast Motul or Mobil or Any other.
Motul 5100 15w50 which is semi synthetic. 300v is good but it can make our engines leaky.

bout my bike, i have done 25k km in 2 years. but in the past few months the timing chain sound is just not going, what ever i do. .
      1. i changed the timing chain and tensioner @ 20k km. after few humdred km the noise was back. went to the local bajaj dealer and the mechanic told me to change the chain, the timing chain sproket that sits on the cam.
      2. 2 days ago changed the timing chain, the sproket, the chain tensioner.
today the sound is back and its very prominent. even if i adjust the tensioner the sound reduces for only a few kilometers.
the bike is also not freely revving beyond 6k rpm. it starts to vibrate a lot and there is no proper pull. .
please suggest what i should do to reduce the timing chain sound.
the vibrations i feel are because of the improper loading of the balancer idler gear. if not that what else should i look into to fix it.
please help. . looking forward to replies.
      thank you. .
Your case is very unique. You should go to nearest probiking for check up. Local service center mechanics aren't much trained for such issues.

The bike might be running lean. But this issue can be very much attached to your bike's main issue. If there's some problem with timing belt/chain then improper valve timing will cause all sorts of problem like overheating, dent in acceleration, decreased millage, vibrations. Go better check it at probiking before it's too late. Problem with timing chain can even ruin the engine. Once you rectify that problem everything will be butter smooth.

I showed it to probiking mechanic, suresh from auto service. He Adjusted the chain tensioner and Said ride sir, its all ok. . No problem is there. . But since am seeing these symptoms clearly, am not convinced by what he said. .

Well bro one kind suggestion plz dont use castrol for our bikes.
In my experience and knowledge there are 4 different engine oils that are well suited for indian conditions.
1.Shell- Engine will be very smooth, increases the engine life. Can be used for longer periods.
2.Elf-Smooth drive but needs replacement around 2500kms.
3.castrol-Light weight engine oil so gets dust easily and requires change once 2000kms. The only big positive is extreme performance can be obtained.
4.Motul and Mobil-does their job but costly.

I would recommend Motul or Mobil. I tried both they are best for our bikes and serve their best. FYI i didnot experience any heating issues.

          • Bike Serviced today @24,568 kms. The motor runs smooth as ever. The works done were as mentioned below:

            1) General service excluding oil change.

            2) Chain wash using Kerosene.

            3) Front fork oil change.

            4) Front Brake pads change.

            5) Coneset change.

            6) Head circular cap replaced on the right side.

            7) 3M treatment for paint and I was surprised to see the after beauty. Simply outstanding job done by the 3M guy.

I forgot to change the airfilter and the spark plugs, due for next service.

The total bill was settled to 2480 INR including the unique taxes imposed by Govt. of India.

P.S.: I changed the oil at home to Motul 3100 4T Gold 20w50, got it for 300 INR. Got a 25 Rs cash back coupon inside the bottle but no use I was home and the shop was 10 kms away wasting 20 Rs of fuel was'nt worth it.

            Thanks,

            Abhishek.

              • Guyz need help !

Hi Guyz ! I am postin in this thread after a long break. MY beast is i a very bad condition. Clocked 17500 KMS. I have a list of queries.

                1. Please direct me towards a good service center in chennai. Please guyz !

                2. I feel my suspensions are pretty bad and i get quirky sound from my suspensions. Why is that? And should i check the air in the suspensions?

                3. I know MOTUL 20w 50 is a good oil. Where can i get hold of it in chennai.?

                4. Please tell me which spares should i change @ this point of time. (17.5 k)

                5. Headlight brightness is very low. How can i fix it?

                6. One major issue. When i accelerate at 2nd, 3rd gears, i can feel a jerk when the throttle is raised and the same jerk can be felt when the throttle is released . I think this has something to do with acc. wires. Any suggestions?

                Waiting for reply !

                  2) Front or Back? assuming front suspension get the fork oil changed and check the fork springs too. For the back you will have to replace the shocks if found kaput.

                  5) If below normal then check the battery for fluid or weakness.

                  6) Check clogged air filter or spark plugs might be faulty, residues in carburetor, clean it!

Many do suffer from same problem. I'm not an expert but I suspect that made in china ballasts pull to much energy from battery at startup.
first you can check the water level from battery.
secondly if the problem persists upgrade coil and charging unit to 220's I think it's direct fit.

But before going any further I'll suggest to post the same the topic in this thread:

I'm really having trouble understanding your problem.
If our BCU detects that there's problem with high beam then it automatically switches to low beam regardless the mode you have chosen.

                        • I've done crazy but still a cool thing. I've made a permanent arrangement to charge battery without taking it off. It looks very OEM too. That's not all I've connected it to my UPS' battery. So when power cuts off I get prolonged use. . When power comes back it charges both batteries.

It was super easy and cheap to do. If anyone's interested I can post more about it.

Put relays right after switch then. I think you now have them at the the end of the headlight cord.

But is it plug and play?
Mine is exactly like charging a mobile. It can be plugged into wall or hooked to computer. No fuss.

Hooked onto PC? I can't understand what you have done, more helpful if you explain in some detail.
