@lockhrt999: Thanks for the detailed info....i assume u r a mechanical engineer....cuz u have great info about our bike....
Coming to the point.. The SC Guy straight away said that nothing can be done to fix the crooked chain....the other mechanic in small garage...tightened and loosened the chain but the vibrations in the footpegs wouldnt go away...I dont think the local mechanic can check whether both the sprockets are parallel...but i will insist him to check...it...I will post later...if those sprockets are parallel or not..I think the problem started since the SC Guy tightened the chain on the last service....

has anyone noticed that in the dual color bikes such as blue-black or red-black, the shade of color on the tank is different and the shade on the tank flaps is different...y is it so??

          what all mods are required?
          hello.
i have changed my bike's headlamp to classic one some 6 months ago with help of my mechanic friend.
It is pretty simple to change it .
u just need to remove current headlight and its clamps from fork and add new clamps which will hold the headlight and just cut one pilot lamp and use other as pilot in round headlight.
          cost
          headlight pulsar classic -450
          tube -90
          clamps - 190
          nut and bolts 2 -20
and labour was 100 rs only.

          btw mine is 150

Generally To tighten or loosening the chain we need to loosen up those big nuts holding rear wheel axle. Tightening and loosening the chain is nothing but moving the whole rear wheel back and forth using the nuts situated at the end of the swing arm. For a perfect job, nuts from both right and left sides need to be loosend/tightened in equal turns so that rear wheel will remain parallel all the time. In a hasty job, mechanics don't have time, they don't keep those nuts in equal turns causing the rear wheel not to remain in straight position. And as wheel isn't in alignment, the sprocket attached to it will also won't stay in alignment.

You need to understand it yourself to describe what's happening to a mechanic otherwise he'll think you're crazy.
            I'm not a mechanical engineer.

Tank = is made up of metal and hence the color is needed to be sprayed on.
Flaps = is made up of plastic and the color you're seeing is the actual shade of the plastic. No color is sprayed on.

Otherwise both stuff are sprayed with the same lacquer to acquire same finish. So in the end you get same finish with different colors, if looked closely.

Yes, the sound like a 'trrrr' when the bike is accelerating. My friend also experienced the same problem (P220 clocked 10K).
Actually there is no performance issue but the sound is annoying, it is better to check it on the service center.

Just wondering what's the OTR price of the bike and how long is the warranty at your place?

I have Pulsar 180 ug4 2009 since 4 years. There is no kick start on my bike. A week ago my bike failed to start I took it to cheap local service center and they filled it with distilled water and took Rs 50 for battery charging for an hour. Now the battery icon blinks and I always have to push start the bike with choke pulled out. What could be the reason ?

It might be that the fuse had gone kaput... so if the bike is total dead i.e. no cranking at all when pressing the switch (the switch acts as if dead) then check the fuse... but if there's even a little bit of cranking then fuse is not the problem... battery should be the culprit and it should be as you said battery sign blinking... the battery must have gone really weak since four years... I think that its your OEM battery...

Simple, the battery has reached near to end of its life. Replace it with Amaron.

                          I bought P180 UG4 on 2012 for 19.000.000 IDR (it is 99096.4000 Indian Rupee)
The electrical warranty is 6 months and the engine warranty is 3 years.

How can you say that it is an end stage of the battery as every winter season from November to January I face starting issues but not pushing issues like now as it is some what cold ? Now I do hear cranking noise when I press the starter button. When I removed the spark plugs it is very oily at the tip. Something is messed up, I will give it to Bajaj service center and let's see what they have to say, whether is it a battery or a spark plug.
