I misread the model number as price.
First of all if you had to install the that filter why didn't you install the one which is specially made for pulsar? It fits inside stock air box, no mechanic needed and according to KnN it doesn't need any upjetting.
Most of the engines do face problems after installing non standard air filter. Basically by upgrading to KnN r1100 you're making too much air inside the engine compared to the quantities of petrol and that's why it's overheating. Overheating has already started to kill the engine, vibrations are just a start. Bajaj engines already run hot. You have some chance if you upjet the nozzle as it will let in more petrol and that will keep the engine cool upto some extent.

If you want higher fuel average, engine will suffer but if you can live with lesser fuel average, engine will still suffer (but a bit less

What you trying to say. K&n r 1100 is not suitable for pulser 180.but the dealer and installer said its gives more performance for pulser180.i can't change it because its just bought one week old please help.deos the change in oil and next free service solve this problem

What dealers say is called sales pitch. Has that dealer told you that you kissed the warranty good bye when you installed K&N filter? (Personally I don't give f about opinions by pro mechanic working at Bajaj service center let alone some guy working in a shed selling air filters)
If I had to fit KnN filter on my bike wouldn't I choose the one which is specially made for pulsars by KnN company? This air filter was plug & play and anyone can fit it.

I don't know if R1100 is suitable for P180. Maybe Cleaner knows.

Will oil change solve the vibrations?
Dead oil(like 10k km used) may cause vibrations.

As you said the bike engine is overheating.
Little overheating will cause oil to burn and whitish smoke start coming out of exhaust. Reduced in quantity and burnt oil makes engine components wear out faster.
then more Overheating will start engine to backfire and that badder than how it sounds. It actually deforms engine components like piston rods, valves etc.
then more overheating can also cause exhaust and inlet valves to fry.
then more overheating can cause engine block components like bore etc go deformed.
Anything above mentioned can cause excessive vibrations.

Our engines don't have managed heat dissipation system (aka liquid cooling) so they are at mercy of environmental temperatures and also we don't have overheating alert to tell us if engine is overheating. You're fortunate it's still a little winter but situation will worsen in summer.

There is no benefit running lean, the DTSI engine already runs hotter and overheating it even more would shorten the lifespan of the engine. You should not run a rich mixture too, your pistons and exhaust port would be clogged with carbon like the 2-strokes and you will have decarb and reseat the valves to rectify it.

Yes, K&N R1100 can be used with P180, is there any benefit doing this? No. Obviously it will need rejetting, the stock main jet of P180 is 110, try the P220 jet which is 115 or you can go for RTR 180 jet which is 125.
Do not go for P200NS jets, they are smaller than P220 or even P180 jets.
I am back!

Ha ha ha ha... Love you lockhrt999 bro... I know since the beginning that lean setting is never fruitful for the engine and i'm never in favour of it and don't worry bro... now my bike's tuning is permanent as I have achieved the chocolate brown spark plug... and would also like to NOTIFY you about the mileage... its giving me 42-44 in city riding and 45-47 on long open routes (like my college route) I am NOT saying highways coz I haven't been to one... and come what may i'm not going to change my settings... not even the idle screw adjustment.

Its around 5-7 deg. Celcius in Lucknow... and my bike starts in single crank (1st crank of the day and I then pull out the choke to regulate the oil and keep it for 40 seconds or so, till it achieves a stable higher rpm like 3k-3.5k) and you know what the engine still does not heat that much as compared to other 180s because "THE AFR IS JUST PERFECT"... thanks to you mate and everybody who helped me out(actually i'm forgetting names... ) and also, bhrata shri my bike was never running that lean that it wud produce such great problems and neither did I touch my bike to get anything installed...

the only thing I got installed is my helmet holder... ("U ka hai na ki kahan is suraksha kavach ko leke tukr tukr ghumenge...")

hey mate, i'd just like to ask you that on what parameters are you stating that your bike is overheating... I mean how can you say that your bike's overheating and not just heating...??? even I used to think that my bikes over heating but it was not... (when I was new to it)
also if you're so sure of overheating then its is because of the KnN filter you've installed...

I generally carry my helmet around. I think it sets me aside in the crowd. I think, the girls, when they see helmet in your hands they know this guy didn't use bus to come down here. I distinctly remember my first day with helmet. I bought it on 12 feb, was asked by a girl for a date on 13 feb and date was celebrated on 14 feb.

When I just can't lug it around, I secure it to petrol tank lid. I can post photo if anyone doesn't know this.

If you feel like upgrading something, upgrade the stock mirrors to P135 mirrors. They will make you a lot more confident.

Brand new bikes runs hotter for first thousand kms and it's normal.
When the bike is overheating you just know it. You can literally feel the radiation two feets away with bare palms.
There is an xbhp certified trick to check of the bike's overheating. Ride the bike at high speeds for half an hour. Scrub your throat for enough saliva and spit it on the engine, if that vaporizes in a second the engine is overheating.

Hello sir,
It must be some gruesome accident which took you 5 months to recover from. Physical recovery from such is very unobjectable but mental isn't especially for family members. I might never be able convince mine.

There's no P180 UG5 unless you're referring to something which will be launched at expo. Current gen is still UG4 with different paint scheme , that's all. I think, you should wait till second week of Feb, the picture will be clear by then.

I toh never had a gf ever but yes I do get girl's serious attention after P180 came into my life... whether i'm on it riding or without it... just walking my way... and helmet stand toh college ke liye lagwaya hai coz I already lost one helmet in class... Hahaha someone found my 4 year old HELMET so fascinating that he/she took it... WOW...

exactly I was insisting the mechanic to put P135 mirrors but he was making endless excuses that these can't be put... they are of low quality... etc. etc. I thought let it be i'll get it installed later coz at that time the important thing was to take this beauty of the showroom coz finally my parents were there to buy it and I did not want to take any chances... you know...

sometimes I feel like giving it to Bajaj mechanics but most of the times I feel like kissing Bajaj for making such a beauty...(Metaphorically said... please)

and also LOVED your signature...!!! Please somebody make them read this...!!!

AFAIK it's in the range of 2-3 full revs... but you just can't exactly stick to that... it also depends on the engine type... like @Taahir and @lockhrt999 have their settings on 2.2 I have my setting under 3.3 (I tuned it while seeing the rpm meter and hearing the engine sound, so don't know exactly about the turns but yes its definitely under that figure...) also yours must be more than ours coz you installed a KnN filter thus you'll be requiring more fuel... the best way to check for a good tune is with the spark plug colour... I did it that way...

also what's your fuel efficiency before and after the filter installation and what's your mileage...

Instead of going with K&N, plonk in a 200 cylinder kit. Be sure to install the P220 camshaft too, and the jets of P200. All parts are direct fit and should give you way better performance and stock reliability.

On a side note, why the heck is thread in "General Biking Discussion" section? Something must be going on. Some compatibility problem with plugins?

EDIT: [OT @lockhrt999 ...and on 15th of February she broke up Unlucky 13. Well, reading the posts made by you guys make me think P180 is a cat magnet, that being said, I have been asked out by multiple girls while taking a almost half a century old bicycle to college (Seriously it was purchased by my grandfather in the late 60s) but I always turn down those "offers" with a nasty offensive answer, you see, I don't like to gamble.

About @lockhrt999's signature, loud pipes do save lives, not in the sense bikers from Western countries mean though. When you ride a loud bike, people (Those pesky jaywalkers) do not linger in front of you that much, especially in the back roads. I have had many near misses because I ride a bicycle which is obviously silent and has no light to indicate my position. That is why I remove the nut that covers exhaust gas checking port if I have to ride in early mornings or in dark conditions. Here in Assam, during summer nights a lot of people sit or sleep in the middle of rural roads and I have witnessed the catastrophic result of this behavior. BTW I like South Park too, especially because they don't do politically correct.[/OT]

The only other way is going full stock mode.
Up-jetting isn't hard or messy at all. Finding right jets is harder than installing them. And you can always revert back to stock. No biggie.

This how you do it> Open the tank cap. Insert the longest side helmet belt into tank and close the the tank cap. Simple.
It can scratch the tank if someone manhandles the bike while it's parked. And you can secure upto two helmets this way.

The simplest way of tuning is rotate AFR screw is start in one direction (clockwise or anticlockwise), turn it half one 180 degrees every morning before starting your day. See how the bike performs. Keep doing it till you find a good tune. If you think the performance has becoming worse then start in the other direction.

13 was unlucky for Pune as it had its first share of bomb blasting on that day. She is still friend, just. I can't find any one to fill the space. Girls(not all) are dumb in real world and that annoys the f out of me.

P180 has a lot of muscles to show off.
Enjoy till you can. Life won't be same after collage. You won't get many options after.

Here in Assam, during summer nights a lot of people sit or sleep in the middle of rural roads and I have witnessed the catastrophic result of this behaviour. BTW I like South Park too, especially because they don't do politically correct.[/OT]
Mine P180 is a bit louder than most of the sane P180s maybe it's because I ride it mostly at high RPM. And I like it a lot. The notes have some openness to them, no rumble like KnN instead they sound sophisticated.
I like sound of straight-4.
I like reasonably sounding loud motorcycles only, like superbikes etc. I was moved when Eric Cartman said that. Here is that episode if anyone's interested > Download south park s13e12 avi

Any idea?
And I searched through a lot of shops but didn't find p200 or p220 jets.
And I don't have any idea about from where I'm gonna get p200 cylinder kit.
The cylinder kit should cost around 2000 rupees, the camshaft is around 400 rupees and the jets should run you for 300 rupees. I suggest you visit the Bajaj SVCs in your area to get the required parts and get it installed through a good outside mechanic.
I am back!
