Did you open the head lamp anytime before this problem started?

Hey @lockhrt999 i'd just like to mention that... our bike doesn't work on 2-2.5 setting at all... it feels really sluggish and stalls really often... and while riding gives the feel that its running out of fuel... and also the engine gets heated a lot... moreover also gives a feeling of putting too much pressure on engine while riding... also like say that day when @sgsarthak posted his sp pics I also got mine sp opend to see the condition and voila it was chocolate brown (like that Cadbury colour) so I've kept it as permanent...( felt really proud that day as I myself achieved that perfect tune...

@Cleaner I did his tuning at keeping his rpm at 1500 and tuned it from closed to open through the engine hum (i.e. is should be uniform and regular) and the rpm needle being stable with the exhaust note sound and took a ride with either him or me as pillion and went upto 80-82 kmph (and acc. to me easily)...

One thing I cudn't understand @Cleaner and @lockhrt999 that how come his spark plug is showing a lean setting and he's getting a mileage of 40 (all conditions) and his AFR screw is set to 4.6 (full 360) turns which means fairly rich...??? "khopadiya tanna gaya hamra toh" (UP language:- when something shocking happens)

i have set the afr screw to 2.75 turns today....bt the problem is the rpm needle is not stable at this setting in my bike....it bcomes stable close to 4 turns n onwards....

ok...bt i think if the rpm is not stable at 2.75 then it can never be my tuning....generally p180 has tuning close to 2.5....bt its nt in my case...i have to adjust it to sm other..

smtimes i also face a problem that my bike didnt start when in gear......i press the self and it doesnt start .....bt wen i put it into neutral then it starts nrmally.....wat cn b d issue...

Yes, several times before and once after.

Please check if the switch, bcu and meter connectors are good. If they are exposed or shorted out or just loose they will cause issues with the meter.

@Cleaner: Do you know the type of RR from 200ns? Can it be fitted on P180?

Possible on UG4 and other DC ones but what's the point? The RR won't take the load of a 55watt headlamp without modified stator, from what I have seen in this post here http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/motorcyc...ml#post1024436 NS is having problem taking the load of a 55watt headlamp.
Have yet to confirm it from a reputable source about the NS stator size though.
I'd rather get the Ape RR unit and get the coil machine winded.

BTW any update on the console problem?

I do know that stator will need to be rewinded for any benefit. I just wanted to know if the RR from ns is capable providing additional watts. P220F RR is a three phase and has quite a different wiring going (before battery).

In 200ns forum, his battery is about to expire that's why he's facing that problem.

I haven't had time to work on my console problem, I'll open it on next thursday or saturday.

As being reported, this is happening with many NS. I am asking them to check the voltage at battery terminals but nobody seems to be interested in doing that. The RR of NS can handle upto 238 watts AFAIK. I called up a local stockist and he quoted 1290 rupees for the 200NS RR, I'd rater spend few hundreds more and buy the Ape RR. Just get the stator rewinded and plonk in a Phillips X-Treme Vision and you will be smiling like an idiot looking at the light output, however, the smile will fade when you find out those high performance bulbs blow out sooner. You can even get a H4 70/65 watt Ralley bulb but I can not seem to find them here in Assam. Check with your local automotive parts store if you can source one.

238W is a lot. I don't think the bike can use even half that. People have been saying Ape RR isn't reliable.

I'd love to put 55W hid projector for low beam and 55W halogen on P220 like reflector for high beam. And I'd like them to run them simultaneously please.

I'll check for H4 rally bulbs, how different they are from regular H4?

Just the RR won't do much, the RR needs to be fed AC power to be able to produce enough juice to power two 60watt bulbs at once,

not that impossible with a rewinded coil but modding the headlamp housing to support one projector and reflector would be complicated, expect to spend around 15,000 rupees or the headlamp mod alone. I know someone who is running that setup with a P220 projector with 35w H7 HID and a 55watt halogen as high beam. The P220 headlamp parts are hard to find at junk yards and are not available for purchase separately, you have to buy the P220 headlamp assembly which costs around 8k.
Ralleye are not much different in physical appearance to regular H4 bulbs but at performance they will blow your mind.

Buddy, I told you I know this. I didn't say anything about stator coil because it was too obvious. I'm good at electrical/electronics stuff.



I was talking about P220 reflector only not whole headlight assembly. The reflector on P220 is very focused because it doesn't need to focus light in two separate directions and also it's small, so we can fit both inside P180 headlight dome.
