Re: Low pick up on Pulsar 180 UG4
Donot waste money on new carb. It may cost around 3K. Just change the diaphragm rubber and float. It will cost around 500 INR. Better reassemble the carb in ASC only. Donot use any local/OEM Parts. Use only original parts.Originally posted by Sumit Basantray View PostWell I kept my bike in a not running state for a long time. The mechanic suggested to change the carburetor entirely. Would it be a wise decision??

ASC- Authorized Service Centre.Originally posted by Sumit Basantray View PostWell I am new to this, what is an ASC. And all these parts are they available separately in a bajaj spare parts store??
Yes you can purchase parts from service centre. If you are reassembling carb from a local mechanic, then please see that they have clean tables and compressors to blow high pressure air to it. Minute dust inside the carb, decreases its performance. And also pulsar carb is CV ( Constant velocity) and is very delicate, vaccum piston gets damaged easily.

Re: Low pick up on Pulsar 180 UG4
Thank you. I will try to get it done in an ASC and see if the pick up issue is gone or not.Originally posted by Jackson Andrade View PostASC- Authorized Service Centre.

Although bajaj dts-i 10000 20w50 is the recommended oil grade, it was not available during the first service so they put in 20w40. could this be the reason ?
Also does new 2014 pulsar 180 come with an oil filter ?
Check your clutch free play IMMEDIATELY.

Re: Bajaj Pulsar 180 (All Versions)
Clutch free play is the gap between the distance the lever is pressed before clutch engages.Originally posted by DesiRipper View PostBrother please explain me about the impact of clutch free play

When you pull the clutch lever it feels loose initially but tightens as you pull it further.
That is the free play.
Free play is kept because during riding our fingers rest on the lever
There is a chance that without any free play we can accidentally keep pulling the clutch
Which could ruin the clutch plates because clutch will be rubbing always.
So it is advisable to keep some clutch play to avoid this.
People with smaller palms and fingers should keep a little more play according to their comfort.Last edited by V!RU$; 12-04-2014, 12:23 PM.

Re: Bajaj Pulsar 180 (All Versions)
I have a new 2014 Pulsar 180. It is 3 months old and done 800 kms only. After my bike's first service, I noticed drastic change in mileage(35 kmpl) and bike's performance. Bajaj service center guys must have messed up the AFR settings. I don't want to take the bike to them again. I would rather do it myself or take it to an outside mechanic. Just wanted to know, after the AFR screw is fully tightened, how many turns should it be turned back to reach the ideal or factory setting ?

Re: Bajaj Pulsar 180 (All Versions)
Factory setting in my bike was 2.75 rounds. Now I keep 4 because it is optimum balance between power and mileage to me. ASC might have stealed petrol and that may be reason for getting less mileage. Check again. My bike gives a minimum of 43 kmpl with mixed riding condition.Originally posted by acushle View PostI have a new 2014 Pulsar 180. It is 3 months old and done 800 kms only. Re: Low pick up on Pulsar 180 UG4
Hi Jackson. I changed the needle, the diaphragm and the float as the pick up has increased . But in the first gear it feels like the bike is pulled backwards by someone, moreover its jerky. Could you throw some light on it??Originally posted by Jackson Andrade View PostASC- Authorized Service Centre.
