Are you talking about the \"neutral patti\" or the mechanism that stops you from starting the starter motor unless the clutch is pulled? The latter is located close to the clutch lever (in the left side switchgear).

Here\'s one being shorted to bypass the clutch sensor mechanism.

Yes found it. The contact bit from clutch sensor was worn out and bike wasn\'t starting in gear. I faviquick\'d a piece of plastic on that to a make a firm contact. Bike is now starting in gear no problem.

Which tyres are better, michelin pilot sporty or mrf zappers? I have mostly city riding, occasional touring and am learning to corner. Also would prefer good grip in monsoon and gravels

Hey guys.. I gave a try for elf moto gold 4 mineral and found it good initially. But after a long drive, the bike felt vibey and rough. So changed the oil to previous brand. Now it feels smoother but it's still little rough.. Have driven around 90kms after oil change.. Any ideas on why it's rough after oil change?? Should I continue to ride the bike or check the engine? Also, is it necessary to clean the oil strainer?

              • Pulsar 180 UG4 Handlebar Wobbling Problem!

Well Hi Guyz, Its been almost 3 years now from my last post related to the same problem which I have experienced from the day one when I bought my first motorcycle. I am putting the old thread link here below.

                http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/help-me/...ng-proble.html - Old Thread Link

Well so far I have covered more than 55,000 km roughly with my pulsar. My handlebar wobbling problem was never solved though. I did number of things to rectify it so just don't want to go through that history. About 8 Months ago first time I changed my Tires and I was hopeful that my front will wobbling problem( between 55kmph to 655 kmph) would at least minimize then, but surprisingly there was no improvement at all.
After some engineering I found out that the new front tire is not seating properly on wheel rim, its slightly producing an oval shape. Tire Shop owner from where I installed new tires invented that my rim is bent. With a heavy heart finally I decided to change the wheel rim too. But even after so much of effort put(in terms of money) it was still useless but not completely. I observed that now if I over inflate front tire (say around 30 to 34 psi) and maintain recommended pressure at rear tire, the wobbling actually disappears.
I feel that here over inflating the tire basically makes the tire stiff which eventually resist deformation under load. Therefore the tires overall diameter marginally increases. So that means if i upgrade my stock tires 90/90 -R17 (Static Load Radius = 286mm) with some larger tire say 100/90 - R17 (Static Load Radius=293mm) it should help me out with the wobbling problem. I don't care about speedo error with distance covered and actual speed which would occur due to tire size change.
So please help me out and please provide me your valuable suggestions and opinions about the same. Has any body seen or done the front tire upgrade on pulsars with larger tire? are there any other concerns I may have left unnoticed!

Global Racing Oil mineral 20w50. Using it from 1400kms on odo. Bike's mileage has also gone down to 49kmpl.

Try switching to SS. Motul 5100 is the best, atleast for me in SS. Or go for FS.

I have used both and currently running on michelin pilot sporty, but i personally like zappers for all round performance, specially in gravel and wet.

                          • Making the ride quality and handling better of the 180 UG3

I figured out that the 180 UG3 can be quite a handler while with the following mods

                            1. Change the fork oil to Motul Heavy 20W grade
                            2. Increase the rear shock pre-load to the last but one notch in case you weigh above 85KG . If you are less than 85KG ,increase it to last but two notch. I think there are totally 8 notches(not sure).Stock(1) is the lowest notch and the softest

With these mods the bike is lot more flick-able and also bends into the corners with aplomb! Just ensure that you have a decent pair of tyres (I run on Michelin pilot sporty 120/80-17 at the rear and Zapper FY1 90/80-17 at the front) and factory recommended tyre pressure.

You will be surprised at the improvement these two changes can make. It is like i found a cheat code to make the bike handle better

Yesterday I was speed testing my 180. Could reach 127kmph without crouching. I think crouching could get it beyond 130.

Anyway, what I observed was that above 110kmph, it becomes difficult to execute turns. Even for slight turns, I had to slow down. I also own a gixxer, on which turns are easy even at hight speeds. But I was nervous to execute the turns on my 180.
                              Why is this difference?
The sense of freedom these two wheels give can never be matched by anything else...

Better riding dynamics, a better frame (since it is a new product) and better weight distribution. Also, monoshocks help improve handling!
