Clutch is loose. Tighten it a little.Originally posted by shrirang Shivankar View PostI'm new here and tried reading 4-5 pages, I know this question might have been addressed before but didn't find it.
My pulsar 180 has completed 2000 kms and the gear shifting is really very difficult, its harsh to change gear, rpm has to be raised to change the gear somewhat smoothly, is this normal, is there any manufacturing defects, any remedies for it?

Re: Bajaj Pulsar 180 (All Versions)
Use 20w50 oil and as lockhrt pointed out, check clutch play and your problem should vanish..Originally posted by shrirang Shivankar View PostIt's like this from day 1, I think oil is 20W40, serviced about month ago

What type of shock? Rear brake equipment squealing could be due to cold weather or misaligned/worn out brake shoes. If it disappears after repeated use and brake has not faded, it's fine I'd say. Else get the brakes checked.Originally posted by anarchy911 View PostFor the past two days I am noticing, when I am starting my bike, I feel minor shocks on the accelerator grip (leftmost part of it). Also, rear brake is making a loud squealing noise sometimes.

Looks like either wiring issue or charger failure. Check the wiring harness completely and check the charging current for the battery. Experienced forum members can provide better suggestions here I guess..Originally posted by ankitmishra3540 View PostI have pulsar 180 UG4. It does disappear after sometime, still I think I should get it checked as its happening for the first time.Originally posted by John P Daniel View PostWhat type of shock? Good thing to check it earlier rather than suffering later. About your other issue, I don't understand what you are trying to say.. Could you elaborate?Originally posted by anarchy911 View PostIt does disappear after sometime, still I think I should get it checked as its happening for the first time.

Re: Bajaj Pulsar 180 (All Versions)
Even I have faced the same issue many time with my bike but it generally disappears after a short while I have got everything changed and also crosschecked it but there's no problem even my friends have seen this on there machines don't worry about it just ignore it. In Bajaj don't fiddle much with your bike if you do then for 1 thing you will get two more problem lined up at then end of the day. So just rode and enjoy it.Originally posted by John P Daniel View PostWhat type of shock? Rear brake equipment squealing could be due to cold weather or misaligned/worn out brake shoes. You are talking about brakes or electrical issue?Originally posted by arjunb25 View PostEven I have faced the same issue many time with my bike but it generally disappears after a short while I have got everything changed and also crosschecked it but there's no problem even my friends have seen this on there machines don't worry about it just ignore it. Re: Bajaj Pulsar 180 (All Versions)
Electrical issues. I guess we all know the quality of Bajaj nothing is hidden from us. Currently I am facing internet issue is that my bike sometimes goes on the left hand side while we are on a straight road. I wonder what to do about this I have filled proper air pressure on it but does not seem to work intact I showed it to the service center too but they say that there is nothing. Re: Bajaj Pulsar 180 (All Versions)
Firstly, Congratulations for the new Machine... Now the tipsOriginally posted by Allcan View PostHi guys.....
I'm new to xbhp and biking
Booked a bajaj pulsar 180 today.... it'll be arriving earlier next week......
Need some suggestions and guidelines for handling this mean machine...
Dream came true.... :-)
The most important point and thumb rule: LOVE, RESPECT, VALUE and FEEL for your bike. "It" "Lives"... through YOU...!!
Now,
Non Technical
ALWAYS WEAR A HELMET WHILE RIDING YOUR BIKE OR ANY BIKE.
1. Be Excited and at the same time Calm and Composed. The Immediate power you get in hands may rev YOU up BUT it's the engine that has to rev NOT YOU.
2. Do not get into races and stunts as you get your hands on it, even though Pulsar themselves says "India's No. 1 Sports Bike", ITS NOT A TRACK TOOL but you can do some bouncing on it, that too LATER.
3. Always Keep the Bike single handed and ride sane and safe.
4. Always get your bike serviced in front of your eyes.
Technical
1. Whenever taking your bike out always idle it for 30-40 secs, use choke in cold weather and then go for a ride this is to circulate the oil evenly in all parts.
2. Do not (rather Never except in a few cases) rev the bike too much for rpms like 5-7k on stand still.
3. Ride at speeds of 50-65 for the first 2500-3000 kms as this is the run-in period of the Bike where the engine actually goes under the "Hormonal" changes.
4. While riding keep you rpm upto 4k and do not CONSTANTIZE you speed keep it varying.
5. You can go to speeds like 90-95 kmph if the road and your confidence allows you only ONCE or max TWICE.
6. Try running your bike in ON Mode and not in reserve.
7. Always keep checking your tyre pressure (sounds un-importance, but plays a vital role), and keep it as 28 & 32 for Front and Rear respectively.
8. Your engine might heat a bit more as compared to other older P180 engines, don't worry, that's because of the Run-in role that's happening inside.
9. After 2.5k-4k you can change your Engine Oil to Motul 15w50 Single Ester Semi Synthetic. Works like charm...
Fellows please add if I have missed anything...
And Most importantly ENJOY your RIDE...!!

Batteries have 4-5 years of shelf life. But my bike is just 2.2 years old... and I never get a starting or crank problems (touchwoodOriginally posted by s1d View PostYour battery has probably gone for a toss. Reason: sulpfation , likely cause: due to lack of distilled water. My guess is one or more of the cells have been damaged.
If you have a multimeter, you can measure the voltage with the bike off.. it should be at least 12.7 Volts. If its lower, get it charged.. and measure voltage.. and after charging it should show up at least 10.5V .. And if it is unable to hold even 10.5 volts, then time to get a new battery.
also after charging it , you can also hold a multimeter across the batt terminals and thumb the starter.. you should get a reading of at least 9.5 Volts, if the reading drops dead or falls drastically, the battery is kaput. repeat this a couple of times to avoid a false sense of 'battery is ok because first time the reading was ok'.
OR
Simply take it to the battery guy and have them check it.
); the start is as crisp as it should be... its just that it unnecessarily pops up... I just want to be safe and keep my bro healthy... Anyways, I'll surely check the above mentioned things and will report back again. Thanks everyone for the Suggestions.

Re: Bajaj Pulsar 180 (All Versions)
Thanks prajwalmd for taking time and explaining in detail....
I'll follow them carefully....
The problem which i have now is, i got the bike fitted with EUROGRIP tyres instead of MRF's. They don't seem to be as grippy as the MRF nylogrip zappers.
The dealer also said that now all pulsar 180's come with only EUROGRIP tyres and not MRF's, don't know how far it's true. I can see p150 & p220 with MRF tyres
Can anyone suggest me some good tyres for replacement and it's approx price too....
Thanks in advance.
