I miss my P180 for sure.It was my 1st bike. This is probably the best looking bike after R15 V2.0 in my eyes.I had this bike for 15 months and drove 24848 Kms until i sold it.Now i own a 200AS but i still am subscribed for this thread as it brings back the memories.

There is something called REED switch.Just get it checked in Service centre

Guys my 180 classics's suspension have worn out completely. The bike is wobbling even on patchy roads and I can feel the suspension not sprung properly even in its hardest setting. I'm thinking to try some kinda gas shocks? Any advise on if it will work out or not?

I don't wash/clean bike that often. There is no rust anywhere on the bike. However it has a lot of scratches as I keep a lot of stuff on bike's tank.
What's with the pidilite bottle?? I too don't like to wash the bike regularly. I feel it creates rust. But I dust off the fibre parts before every ride though. I may have to replace the front tyres soon since the centre threads have worn out a bit. What's the tyre pressure you keep for both tyres? BTW, my bike asks for an oil change every 1.2k-1.3) kms. Is it normal? Oil level doesn't go down but engine becomes rough beyond those said kms.

This bottle helps you to loosen up rusted nuts & bolts but I use it for cleaning the carb and jets by spraying it through the air box. I like to keep 28 psi in tyres. rear holds that pressure for months whereas front goes to 10-14 psi in 2 weeks. I fill air once in a month so that means mostly i have only 14psi at front. :|

What oil are you using? the oil change is way too frequent. it should last for 2.5-3k km. Last time I changed after almost 5k km (too long span, I know), only 700ml oil came out.

Change the rear suspension. It's the only way. Repairing it is not an option as it's too much hectic. About front suspension, change the suspension oil and your suspension will become responsive.

How to use the pidilite? My front also loses air faster compared to rear. I use 29-31 for pillion use or 29-29. But tyre seems to have faded at the centre more than the sides for both front and rear. Currently using shell ax5 20w50. It's mineral one though. Bike has become rough but I plan on keeping it for 2k this time.

Zorrik/wd40 is not meant to be used as a carb cleaner It is a penetrating lubricant. For cleaning carb use products from tribocor/cyclo/3m. Don't spary any of these through air box, open the carb lower bowl and spray it on jets.

lockhrt999 I'm about to change it. But I'm Planning to get the nitro gas shocks like the ones in the latest pulsar.. Will it work out?

Has anyone tried it already. Feedback will be helpful.

U mean the one which comes with NS/AS?
It wouldn't be of great help ,also its more stiffer than 180s ones
I still think the one which comes stock is the best .still @lockheart can help you more on this

xplod566 No bro. The ones in the NS/AS are mono shocks i guess. I meant the 220f 's suspension or the last 180 dtsi. They come with nitrox gas chambers. I have no idea of how much it costs, or can it fit in, or will it be too stiff.. Because the 180 classic has an 18"rim while the laters have a 17"rim.

You mean you had experienced them fitted on to a pulsar 180 classic or what?

Hi

I have found a solution .Please check the below link

the classic pulsar's swing is shorter by almost 50mm.so that measn that the longer shox of the new dtsi will make the ride height more and hence more centre of gravity

Thanks a lot bro! So basically, i have to either change the rims or the swing arm. I quite like the 18" rims so i'm definitely not gonna change that. Changing Swing arm, again, doesnt sound good to me. Its better i go with a brand new stock shocks. But the problem mentioned there as the new shocks hitting the chain guard doesnt sound like a big issue to me. I might remove the chain guard if i manage to get a nice half cover for the chain like the one in the CBR.

Thanks again.

I know it's penetrating fluid. But it works absolutely fine for carb too. secondly, if you are getting the carb spray, you don't open carb and spray on the jets. You are supposed to spray from air box.
