    Pulsar 180 UG4 problem.

    Hi friends...
    I have Pulsar 180 UG4, which I bought in January 2012 and know it clocked 55000. 2 months ago I got replaced its cluch plates, friction plates and hub centre along with chain sprocket set but after this I started to face problems like bike lost pick up, over heating and at low speeds it feels that engine is going to off. I consulted to many mechanics but no relief. I replaced timing chain and both spark plugs but the problem still was there, then I saw a thread in DIY to clean carburater and I cleaned it and problem solved but now my bike do not go beyond 60 kmph and at 60 kmph speed it starts to shiver and feels that there is no more throttle also it at this speed it sounds too much. please help and forgive for bad English.

      Cautions for new Pulsar 180

      Hi All,

      2 days back, I bought new pulsar 180. I want to know what are all the precautions that I should take till I complete few services like What's the top speed I can do..?, How many Km's can I travel in a single stretch..? etc..,

      please do let me know on number of services basis, like what is good earlier to first Service..? and what will be the better way after first service and before second service and so on.

        K dude u have to equip u r 180 with front fork lock,fuel tank petcock lock,bike cover and GPS tracker for security reasons and check the user manual for service schedule always put speed petrol in bharat petroleum and ride u r bike below 65 kmph speed and do not exceed the rpm for 4500 for first 5000 kms after 5000 kms of run unleash the beast

          Congrats bro. Regarding run in, Don't lug engine at low Rpm. Don't load the engine too much by giving heavy throttle or carrying too much load. Vary the Rpm and never maintain a particular Rpm. The key is to ensure engine does not overheat. For peace of mind don't cross 4k Rpm before first service(500-750kms). Be gentle with throttle input till 2000kms. Engine will heat up during run in and it's normal. Gud luck bro.

                      Pulsar 180 fuel indicator

                      Hi everyone,

                      I have small confusion with my new pulsar 180 (just 170km is done) fuel indicator. Actually, in console fuel indicator is showing 2 bars and fuel tank symbol is blinking slowly. And my bike is still running with fuel Tap in ON position only.

                      My confusion is, few said that blinking fuel tank indicates that bike is running with reserved fuel. If it is true, how my bike is running with fuel tap in ON.

                      Can anyone please answer these questions?
                      1. 1 bar of fuel indicator means how many letres of fuel we have..?

                      2. For 2 bars of fuel indicator, will it run in reserve mode or ON mode..?

                      3. How to know how much fuel left in tank..?

                      And few said, new bikes will run in ON mode only, it won't goes to RESERVE mode till first service.. Is it True..?

                        The fuel gauge is approximate, does not give you exact values. You know you have hit reserve when you hit reserve!

                        3. Whatever the company claims is the reserve capacity of the tank is what the remaining fuel will be when you hit reserve.

                        Whoever said that last line to you should be hung, drawn and quartered. If you don't fill petrol the bike will hit reserve, irrespective of your servicing history!!! And if you still don't fill petrol even after hitting reserve, eventually you will run out of fuel and push your bike to the nearest petrol bunk. Punch the guy in the face who told you that Okay don't do that you are liable to be prosecuted for that!!!
                        Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

                          Fuel indicator in pulsar is not accurate just maintain the fuel level in main position if u get reserve then fill it up to main I m doing this only

                                Hi all,

                                My pulsar 180, first service is completed 2 days back. I see some good improvement but, earlier to service, I used to go with 4000 RPM which is of 55kmph speed. Even after the service my bike is going with 55kmph only at 4000 RPM.. It should change right..?

                                And what's the top speed I can go after first service..?
