i m planning to take the bike to a long ride of 400 kms (to and fro)..it would be a complete highway ride, so speed would be a constant 90+.

will riding on high speed for such a distance affect the average of my bike..??
Yes, expect average to be around 40 KMPL.

Well...you will get a little bit of less fuel economy during your journey but this would not be permanent.....just for the journey.
Peace

I am pretty sure you will get 42-44 KM/Ltr
I mean between 90-110 KM/Hr on highway.
because we are getting it.

but I will not recommend more than 50 Kms non-stop riding on your P180 (because of our previous experience)
I wish if I am the only rider in roads !!!!!
So I can red line my bike all the time

Enjoy the ride. Ride at very high speed only where you see the road till the far end. Never gamble.
Don't worry about overheating. Bike doesn't overheat even if you keep riding above 100 all day long.
BTW Wear all the gears you have.

1. Make sure you have the engine oil topped up having a 15W50 rating, air filter cleaned up, tyre pressure checked, head light, tail light, indicators, horn, brakes. If possible fill her up from a Shell petrol pump. It's a bit costlier than rest of the petrol pumps but you'll be surprised to see the mileage of P180.
2. Take water bottle, some light chocolates like snickers etc,
3. Pollution certificate, RC, insurance papers.
4. Have a sound sleep before you start your ride.
5 Above all, wear your gears and keep that horse under control.... Live safe ride hard....!! All the best for your journey and do post some pics after you return.

You're welcome... The 1st point along with lubricating the chain will make sure your bike doesn't troubles you during your ride. You can get it serviced after returning from the trip. Oh and by the way, the manual contains a piece of information something like ' Servicing due at xxxxx Kms or XX days, whichever is earlier', so follow that manual.

Taahir:
First of all, Are you sure that they retuned the carb? Because a general servicing also changes the exhaust note. There are two things which are handled in general servicing and do change the exhaust note. First is cleaning Air filter, yes it does change the exhaust note to some extent. Second is the water sipping in the exhaust while a bike wash. Second is quite temporary but yes it does dumb down exhaust note to some extent.

How to know if bike's not properly tuned? The engine overheats and you know that by feeling the heat on your legs(This is lean mixture). Engine knocks in higher gear but at very low RPM like riding at the speed of 30 in 5th gear and bike knocks if you twist the throttle(This is rich mixture). Other factors also change such as top speed, acceleration, exhaust note etc.

I have happened to use these two methods for retuning and none of them are standard.
