Re: pulsar 180 vibration and pic-up problem.
You can check out the Mirajkar motors in dange chowk (on the way to chinchwad). Never been there myself but people say it's good. Otherwise Castrol bike zone before sancheti hostpital is good too.Originally posted by p!e View PostHi,

Need help: I want to know the costing of Pulsar 180 CC, 2009 Model engine repair
Hi I have a Pulsar 180CC, 2009 model bike. I need suggestion about what will be the cost of Piston with rings and cylinder for this(New)
. Also please suggest where to repair my bike with satisfaction of genuine parts. I live in Hadapsar, Pune. The bike currently is not giving enough power to ride it on top speed also from exhaust white smoke is visible after a ride of 5 km or 10 km
. I need to prepare this bike urgently for a road trip of Pune to Bangalore and return, which I am planning to do on 27th of September 2013, this year on this bike and return after four days...
Please help me to fix this ASAP.
If anyone from Xbhp'ians made any recent trip to Bangalore via NH4 can suggest about road status, if it is good or any construction is there on Highway

Re: pulsar 180 vibration and pic-up problem.
Things to check-Originally posted by atulninja.negi66 View PostHello friends, i need help regarding my pulsar 180.First problem is i changed the clutch plates, still no response from the bike. The bike is not giving the power and pic-up.It running like the clutch plated are completely gone.Again i changed the plates still the same problem is there. Also the bike is vibrating a lot.Vibrations are in the handlebar and the rear of the bike, the whole bike is shaking.I adjusted the scissor gear also no positive signs. Friends please help me out what to do?
* Check the chain sprockets for excessive tightening/loosening. Replace if necessary. This should take care of vibrations as well along with some overall 'nut-ling'.
* Check the AFR tuning with a clean spark plug and air filter. If the engine gets too hot tune AFR to richer mixture and change engine oil.
* Inflate the tyres to correct pressure. Check for worn out treads as well.
* Check fork cone set for handle issues. Tighten it as a first step and replace if issue persists.
However, if the bike is too old or has been used excessively, check compression and go for engine overhaul in ASC. Maybe that is why @lockhrt999 asked the kilometers on the odometer.
Good luck! Keep us posted. My DIY(s) - Sprocket bearing change | Paint job | Custom speedo dial
Getting angry at somebody is the same as getting angry with a bike that just won't go. You should stop and start thinking.
A good mechanic will let you watch even without charging you for it. |
It is funny to know that we've been imitated and copied so well and surprising when we notice our mistakes are copied as well.

Re: pulsar 180 vibration and pic-up problem.
Hi,
how much is your odometer through,,if its is over 60k then need to overhaul it.
However if that is not the case then please check the rear wheel orientation, may be after repairing puncture you have fited the tyre wrongly (i mean slide flipping),flipping leads to treads act against the design concept...

Re: pulsar 180 vibration and pic-up problem.
Fellow 180 Owners, I own a 2006 180 DTS-i and it has done 84000 and still going strong...
I have not felt the need to overhaul or to do any other major change to keep the 180 running flawless...
So many people(excluding my parents) told me to sell the 180 as i bought 220F as my second motorcycle but i told them the 180 is my first love and it will stay forever with me as long as possible...
Of course they wont understand the value of 180 as they are not motorcyclists from the heart...
I am writing all these here because i know there are many other 180 owners have faced the same issue but still they'd hold on to their 180 just like me...
Even after having 220F, 180 will be my most loved motorcycle I've ever owned as it is the motorcycle which brought me into Motorcycling community and be with fellow minded friends like all of you...

It is advice-able to stick to the speed limits in service book till 2000 kms, i was also eager to go full throttle in my 180 but i followed the service book suggestion and still my beloved 180 is going strong even after 84000 kms...
Just wait for a few more kms than the 180 is yours only to go in full throttle mode 24X7...
Thanks...SPEED KILLS BUT THRILLS!!!

Re: pulsar 180 vibration and pic-up problem.
Buddy it was a more of a talk rather than advice to you as i find it good to share with like minded 180 lovers...Originally posted by ashish.salian View PostHi dirghayu,

You should ride in range till you feel the engine is not stressing out...
Let engine run stress free for few more kms...
The range which you are maintaining right now is fine i.e. 4000-4500 so better try to be in this range mostly...
i didn't took my 180 above 4500 RPM till near about 2500 kms and never crossed 60 in 5th gear...
Same thing i'm doing with my 220, not crossing the 4000 RPM mark and not taking above 60...
so my personal opinion would be better to ride till 4000-5000 RPM for some more time...
Thanks!!!SPEED KILLS BUT THRILLS!!!

Inshort, the bike has come to it original and most efficient tuning.
Things i noticed are:
When the screw was at 3.5 turns(thanks to svc guy),the bike was very sluggish, was knocking, and there were vibrations even at 60kmph. The exhaust note was very weird, low pickup.
Happy that i got my REAL P180 back. Now no matter who screws with my afr, i can bring it back to normal..!
turning anticlockwise will turn it completely off ( i suppose it will make it lean )..correct me if I am wrong .. from this position on Should I turn it 2.25 in a clockwise direction?
Am getting a very low mileage of 28km/l .. filter changed to k&n ba2201 . What should be done ? please helpAyush Naulakha
