Re: Bajaj Pulsar 180 (All Versions)
Yesterday, oil from a motul 5100 can found its new home in anuplakade 's P180 as the bike lost virginity (I mean it touched 2k mark) and boy I was in for a surprise, old oil was counted more than 1.1 ltr. Looks like lousy job by Bajaj A.S.S. at the first servicing.
Old oil was motul 3000 + some original factory filled oil which got left behind at first servicing.

Re: Bajaj Pulsar 180 (All Versions)
After a long while.....
took my baby for a spin on my city's ringroad.... speeds varied between 40Kmph to 60 kmph.....rode for 15kms....with a small 5 min break to take some pics... reached home....felt heat from the engine....so just touched it....to my surprise it was really hot...totally garam....plus in idle on neutral...a small khat khat sound....from the engine....
here's my baby's pic...(y)
Had changed oil to Motul 5100 i think....since has clocked 1500kms...

You didn't mention how many km the bike has done. If the engine is getting super hot maybe Air Fuel Ratio may need tuning.Originally posted by Vikram Vijaykumar View PostAfter a long while.....

Re: Bajaj Pulsar 180 (All Versions)
Phew! seriously having trouble getting 20w50 grade elf moto gold here in bangalore - searched JC road mulitple shops - found a shop in 2nd cross Hari automobiles but no 20W50 grade oil. The shop had Elf 20w40 and 10w50(670/-) etc.
I somehow don't intend to go the synthetic oil way:
1. have tried Motul 5100 semi synthetic - initially bike was smooth but once done 1200km of city ride that smoothness din't remain. drained it by 4000km i think.
2. Used Motul 3100 as you would expect from this oil - it was just ok and 3000km is done and I am looking to replace oil in a week.
3. had used elf gold and i actually found that very consistent and decent performing - had used it 3 times and it is defintely good oil.
I just prefer changing oil once i feel the gear shift is not being smooth and bike seems running a lil hotter - instead of having high performance costly oil and let it running for longer duration, i use mineral oils..
Any suggestions you guys have on what brand of oil to use - mineral oil - cheaper - easily available ?Last edited by dabster; 09-27-2013, 01:43 AM.

One query guys can we port the 220 headlights to our 180....just like this..( only headlight not the fairing)

we can fit just one projector into our bikes i suppose, exact 220 headlights is not possible...! Maybe..!!!
