Re: Bajaj Pulsar 180 (All Versions)
Yes, it's required in order to keep the suspension in top condition. Used up oil will not be efficient at damping. It will also cause the oil seal to break and then there will be oil spillage on your front disk brakes etc. Changing oil seal is quite complicated process in our bikes that's why change the oil when all is good. You'll need 320 ml (ie 160ml x 2 bottles) oil per fork. I would buy 4 bottles at Bajaj spares and then get the oil replaced at roadside suspension shop.Originally posted by Taahir View Posthey guyz, should i get the fork oil changed at 10k kms????? Remember P180 (UG4 only), P200 and P220 need 320ml per fork. Other pulsars need only 160ml per fork. Don't know about 200ns.
Yes it's possible. But remember your handle bar will touch those flaps. To avoid that Bajaj has made turning radius of UG4 as big as Adnan Sami.Originally posted by inrockz View PostHey guys.. I want to mount pulsar UG4's tank shrouds on my pulsar UG3..Is it possible?? If so what do i have to do?? Do i have to weld those parts on to my tank ??
Always check the engine oil in the morning when engine as cold as Indian govt. Put the bike on the middle stand on a very flat ground. Count to 100 and then check the level.Originally posted by anarchy911 View Postrecently i checked, i think the dealer did not provide me with enough engine oil and brake oil. i am not seeing any oil through the window. what should i do?
About brake oil, as somebody said newer DOT oils are clear transparent like water.

i am giving it for servicing at GEMS Bajaj very soon, service adviser said it'll cost 350 rs in total for fork oil. Is he quoting the price for 4 bottles...?? And 350 rs for paid servicing.
And i am going to get motul 5100 4T 15W50 for rs 560.
Is there some way i can get the servicing done and fork oil changed in front of my eyes @ GEMS....??
Where is the suspension shop in our area??

Re: Bajaj Pulsar 180 (All Versions)
Rs. 350 seems alright considering single bottle costs around 50-60 rs. There's a good suspension shop in dange chowk (opp the garden).Originally posted by Taahir View Post

Well, in Gems they have servicing waiting period of at least a day. So if you're willing stand there all day you might be able to get the whole servicing carried out in front of your eyes. In the early days I was able to get it serviced in front of my eyes as there was not much rush by then. About engine oil, you can tell them that you'll be bringing your own oil while taking the delivery and they can change the oil only then so that way you at least know what actually went into the engine.

Re: Bajaj Pulsar 180 (All Versions)
There's a bajaj service center opp the SBI bank in Hinjewadi which I've not tried. They are not much crowded. If you go there early and insisted them doing the job right then, you might get it done in front of your eyes. Just be there before 9.30am. You could do the fork oil replacement right there.Originally posted by Taahir View PostThanx...!! So should i get the fork oil changed at dange chowk or gems?

I am planning to get the servicing and fork oil changed by a local mechanic, he agreed to do it infront of me with 2-3 hrs.Originally posted by lockhrt999 View PostThere's a bajaj service center opp the SBI bank in Hinjewadi which I've not tried. enquired bout the price of fork oil, its just 45 per bottle(GEMS) and the local mechanic agreed to change it for 80 bucks..!!
One more thing, dont the rear shock absorbers need any maintenance?

Re: Bajaj Pulsar 180 (All Versions)
Rear suspension use air as a damping material and for that rear suspension canisters need to be filled with with air at about 100 psi pressure with a special needle like tube which nobody has.Originally posted by Taahir View PostOne more thing, don't the rear shock absorbers need any maintenance?
