2. at about 250kms, i went to A.S.C to get my engine oil changed. now he changed it to some moto gold 20w40 without asking me. i read in the owners manual that if i change my oil from bajaj 10000 to some other brand, my bike it out of warranty. should i be worried?
avoid 4k rpm, limit urself to 3k till 1k kms, and then 4k till 2k kms.
u should have got the oil changed at 500-750 kms.
dont be worried about the warranty but the grade of oil is wrong. our bike require 20w50 or 15w50

@anarchy911 what Taahir said is perfectly correct... in all his points... and rather do get that engine oil changed as 20W40 is less vicous as compared to 20W50 and hence is not able to give perfect LUBRICATION to the internal parts... as a result the engine HEATS a lot as well as you should also feel a lot of vibration and engine noise... so get it changed AS(est)AP... as longer use may affect internal parts...

I have suffered this thing in my second service... and so I know the outcomes...

and as talking about your 1st point... its totally fine... as because

1. your bike is in Run-In i.e. your bike is now in its process of growth and adjustment of parts that work inside... so lock-up of 1st to 2nd gear takes place and its fine... has happened with me a lot many time... OR may be that you might have crossed the threshold speed of 1st gear and that's why the rpm is so high that the gear cannot be shifted up... so in that case you can give a slight release and immediate pullback to the clutch and then shift the gear... this happens to me even now...

there's nothing to worry about... but one more advice... try to keep your bike SINGLE HANDED... because people might want to take your bike for a ride... and you do not know how cruel or soft they'll be with it... as "No on knows and understands an Elephant better than his Mahauvat..."

What do you say Taahir and @lockhrt999 sir...??!!

Friends I need your help. Last week i cleaned the chain with kerosene with the help of toothbrush...I had plans to give it for a wash...so i didnt oil the chain immediately.. due to my busy schedule i didnt oil the chain for 3-4days...drove it...and gave for wash on 5th day..bike was smooth after wash...so came back home and oiled the chain w90 grade chain oil...Bike was ok for a couple of days...but since the last 4-5 days the chain has become hard....i showed it a mechanic..he told me nothing can be done....but u should use chain lube/spray...
So i brought TVS lube for Rs.120/- and have sprayed it hope my chain will be back to its old self...

For the love of manmohan's beard, throw away that oil. Fill engine with motul 3000 15W50 mineral oil as it's fine oil for running period. From 2000km onwards stick to motul 5100 15W50 every 3000km.

prajwalmd: Original AFR screw had 2.7 full turns before closing. Currently it's on 2.2 turns. Every bike has it's own setting mine setting doesn't really have to work with you. Let me explain, combustion efficiency isn't only dependant on AFR screw there are lots of parameters which should be taken into consideration such as, type of air filter, how clean it is, carb model number, nozzle diameter, how clean it is, engine age, engine condition, type of oil etc. There are lots of factors that decide how engine will run. Copying my settings won't necessarily help, you'll have to come up with best settings for your bike.

So how can the tuning be made easy? Well, you can turn that screw in 180 degrees in either direction everyday morning before starting your ride of the day. See how it performans and keep making adjustments, also don't forget to take note of adjustments that you make. At the end of the week you should have proper setting for your bike.

even my bike is at 2.2 turns.

i switched from 2.7 to 2.2 and my bike started performing well, so i stuck to this setting...!!

lockhrt999 sir thank you for replying... I just wanted to know the for the referential purpose... coz I had my tuning at 4-4.5 (full 360 revs) turns which I was finding very much fine... and even taahir kept his tuning as per your's... so I was not able to decide as to change it or not.... but though now I got it tuned from the company mechanic (some idiot fiddled with my setting while at my training center)... who serviced my bike earlier... but the 'trrr' sound is still comes sometimes (but its less now)... for that 'trrrr' I told that guy, he said that because of the spring in gear scissor the clutch side had been making a 'jhnnn' (which I told him) sound which resulted in engine 'trrr'-ing... Sir please throw some light... and I think not to touch tuning until next service and observe the average and the bike performance... what do you say lockhrt999 sir (I hope you're not getting annoyed as I keep asking) and Taahir... Regards

What exactly is the problem, as far as I can work out the chain has too much slack and it needs cleaning? Chain should have about an inch of slack.

I can not help you with your tarr as I have no idea what might be causing it. I can't really tell just by seating on the other end of computers. You should show that some other mechanic.

lockhrt999: Yes there is some slack as i applied oil and chain lube. I applied chain lube on the advice of the mechanic. The chain is making noise and I can feel the vibrations of the hardness of the chain....the bike isnt smooth....

You miss understood the slackness. Applying oil or spraying won't make it slack. By slack, I mean tension in the middle. Chain should have slackness about 1 to 1.5 inch in the middle. Your chain is too tight, that's why it's causing vibrations. Those vibrations will increase even further when you have a pillion on board < check it. Loose the chain.
