Finally, the screw was turned to 2.25 rotations, idling screw untouched and the idle rpm remained at 1k. The bikes knocking is as minimal as it can be, negligible.

The performance also improved, proper throttle response, the exhaust note is now more crisp and sounds better than before. The bike isnt giving any vibration even at 100kmph.

Inshort, the bike has come to it original and most efficient tuning.

      Things i noticed are:

When the screw was at 3.5 turns(thanks to svc guy),the bike was very sluggish, was knocking, and there were vibrations even at 60kmph. The exhaust note was very weird, low pickup.

Happy that i got my REAL P180 back. Now no matter who screws with my afr, i can bring it back to normal..!

my bike has given me constant 52-58 kmpl since day 1...only once returned 48. So yes, it is possible. Depends on your riding style, do not rip the vehicle.

waah 52~58 !! i thot the ideal mileage for a p180 is around 45 max (if ridden sanely in city and a bit higher on the highway) but never over 50!!

because u ride like a 180 cc bike..!! i never take instant pickups even on signal, scooty wagera overtake krte muje, havent crossed 3k rpm in first 4 gears until now, maybe thats why i get an exceptional mileage. i take it higher speeds slowly and steadily, have never throttled it to the max..!

wil get less mileage this time because of this afr problems...but now its fixed, will get good mileage now...!

oh.. then never mind.. i wanted you to remove the spark plugs to look at the electrode color.
i wouldn't suggest you to fiddle with it lest you strip the threads or do any damage.
when you go in for service.. ask them to remove the plugs and clean them and observe how they do it. take a pic then if possible. if its 'whitish brown' it means you are running lean. ideally it should be brown (not blackish)

and regarding you changing the carb setting by fiddling with the fuel screw, i would suggest you keep it at stock for atleast the first 2000km. pls understand that its not as easy as setting it up at 'x' no. of turns. you are taking a gamble by what you have currently done (i.e. reducing it)

well, its a risk you are taking.. if the stock setting really gave you 50kmpl average, you should be more than happy and not make it any 'leaner'
                        just my opinion.. your bike
like i said tuning the carb is not like setting the speed on your ceiling fan.. you need to at least look at the spark plugs (and/or take CO reading) and tune the carb following a procedure [aptly named 'idle drop method' by honda]

dear friend, i never wanted to change it. i took it to svc for a regular check, and the guy retuned the engine just for the sake of doing somethng, and then i faced the changes in the behavior of the vehicle. now after reducing it, the bike has come to normal feel which i used to get at stock setting. Inshort, i did not fiddle with afr, i just got it back to stock..!!
