      • @nitrofaction: I once serviced at CBZ from Shivajinagar. I had very good experience with them. Where is your CBZ?

Hi guys . . this is my first post over here . . just want to share an experience of my new bike the P180 . . would be getting the delivery in a weeks time (given for a choice number) . . couldnt just wait for the new pulsar 2012 . . hope i do not regret my decision.

It starts with a day where i did the dp of my bike 2 days back and i had requested that i need to see my bike after that u give it for registration at the RTO coz my friend had a pretty bad experience while getting it from the authorized showroom of bajaj here . . his bikes bolts were rusted and the stickers naming 220 was scratched . . and the dealer said he cannot replace the bike as the chasis was registered in his name eventually he had to accept the bike . . so when i landed at my dealers showroom when i got a call from him saying my bike has come as i did not approached the authorized showroom because of the above mentioned experience and also i was getting the bike for around 4000 cheaper and at a lower rate of interest (for the finance opted) i saw my bike parked amongst the other bikes (its the new blue black shade) . . it was bubble wrapped but completely dusty as it was parked outside on the road . . this made me furious . . soon me and my friend noticed there were scratches on the front mudflap . . though the scratches were pretty minute to get noticed but if its your bike you will notice each and every scratch . . i asked the dealer about it and he said that those scratches are always present because of the transportation as 40-50 bikes come in a truck so it is bound to be there . . he said he would get it polished and all those will disappear . . to my shock the silver plate on the exhaust was scratched from below which his eye couldn't spot even after bending down . . after 5-10 minutes of argument he said that he would replace it with a new plate since he also has a bajaj authorized service center beside the showroom . . now comes the biggie . . there was paint job done on the exhaust which was easily spotted by me and that made me go mad at him . . all the argument went on and as my friend had already warned me that the dealer would never get the bike replaced once the dp was done which i then thought i made a mistake, i should have first checked the bike and then made the dp but since he said after the dp he will get the bike as he has in his godown very far from showroom . . the dealer proved my friend right and he said he cannot do anything about it . . the paint was a "Matt finish" according to him and it is just too small thing to notice . . he said "now after this u might even ask me to open the engine n show , itna chota chota cheeze dekhoge toh kabhi gaadi aapko milega nahi kahi par" . . that made me more angry and i told him to get a new bike or return the dp . . i made my loan agent to intervene as i had gone through his reference to this dealer . . the agent has assured me to get it solved and would deliver it within a week . . now im awaiting for the response .

I expect some comments on the whole scenario as in watever the dealer is saying is it right . . and what should be my approach.
We live in India. The situation is more or less same with every 2 wheeler company. I guess you have taken finance from a non-bajaj company. If you can stall your finance for some time then do so. Approach Bajaj by both toll free number and email. They do help.
Recently some govt authority introduced a new law which can slap such manufacturers with fine/compensation upto 1 lac. You can find more about it in News section. the thread is pretty old.

You can always go for same P180 sprocket. If you want more top end + increased millage with reduced acceleration then you can opt for P220's sprocket. But in this case you'll have to make changes to/replace the chain as well. On the other hand, you can replace front sprocket with that of Karizma, you can get same results without making any change to chain. You can choose 150's sprocket if you want more acceleration.

And there's only one vanilla UG4 P180 sprocket, if you're happy with current performance.

1 tooth of front sprocket is equivalent to ~3 teeth of rear sprocket.
lesser number of front sprocket teeth or more number of rear sprocket teeth will increase acceleration. More number of front sprocket teeth or lesser number of rear sprocket teeth will increase top speed and millage.

Nothing beats Pirelli's in looks, but am also amazed by choice for TVS, one of my friends when could not find anything for front, used R15's front and is quite happy

One kat kat sound I was having in front was due to some small spring which is there in Front Disc assembly.
It was solved by service guys in rs.27
