    i too faced same problem in last service (2nd free). the glass window was almost filled with full of oil...then rushed to s.c. but they were just closing their centre. s.c guy told that there will be no problem by this...anyway they told me to come next morning...but i was bc next day and cant go there. but after 2 days the oil level settled to just below the upper mark of the glass window. i dont know how this happend.anyway bike is silky smoothier after 3000kms...

    i think it will settle down after 2,3 days..

    but i dont know about the oil leak..

        PROBLEM GUYS...HELP!
        my bikes front disc break was jammed since i got it....front wheel was some tight to run. there was a feeling that some pulling back when ride.. .told it to the s.c at that time...but they said that its normal for new bikes...it will settle down after some kms...then i rushed to a local mech...he also told that its normal for new bike,,,,then after 525kms gone for 1st free service.. same problem was still there..told it...but they dont mind it...after 2000kms gone for 2nd service...same problem was there...told it,still they dont mind it...now there is a sound to...keeeeee........voice from disc...also feels wieght in front, also some knocking when turns a curve...what will do guys....now bike ran 3250kms...still same problem!...help me mates........

        • @Jasmine: Go to the SVC and tell them to fix or you'll go on a sit-in dharna. Ok, well.. nothing that dramatic but assert that it is not normal. Every SVC will try to tell you that even the most gaping of anomalies is normal when they should actually be fixing it. Put your foot down. FInd anther 180 around you at the SVC centre and show them the difference.

          BTW, guys I have an oil issue. I'm using Motul 300v for the last 2000kms. 1000kms earlier, the oil level dropped by around 75ml after a long, fast ride. I topped it up then. Then again yesterday, after a 80km ride at speeds above 90 (half of that 80km ride was with a pillion), the oil level decreased by almost 100ml. Will top it up today. I dont see any smoke from the silencer or any leaks near the engine whatsoever. Normal?

          I dont think it should be normal cause then a 400km ride at that speeds would literally halve my engine oil like that, I assume.

          KMS done: 6700.

            Front wheel runs a little tighter. This is normal, but too tight? get your brake-pads removed and than refitted and than check. Better try this at an local garage.

            Happened with me too. Still no smoke and the bike is running fine. So, I don't see any problems, just top-up and run the bike.

              • Yesterday I poured green blood in engine.
                Engine's refinement is astonishing.
                Prior oil was used for more than 4k km. during that it smocked out 150 ml somewhere. Didn't surprise as I red-lined the bike countless times, drove constantly at 11.1K RPM.


                Also bought 2 mirrors of 135, cost 110 each.

                There're many confusing things in different different manuals of same bike. :P

                My UG4 manual says to use 320 ml for each leg of front fork. But old UG3 says 330ml for both. So does it mean that our UG4 forks who are thicker than old 180 need more oil?

                Another crazy thing: My UG4 manual says that air should be pumped into rear suspension canisters to set pressure at 6 psi. But the problem is we live under 14 psi atmospheric pressure . So I think we need air sucker to create vacuum inside canisters...right? Well SC's manual says pressure should be maintained at 7.5 km/cm2 i.e. 106 psi. What to follow?

                one more crazy thing: Look into latest manual, they have not only doubled servicing duration but every other thing also. For example engine oil drain at every 10,000km , fork oil change : 20,000 km., brake fluid top up : 30,000 (that's 3x), brake new liners : 15,000 and all kind of filter replacement.

                So there are only two possibilities EITHER Bajaj SC are overflowing with vehicles and condition is out of control OR contemporary UG4 180s are doubly refined than our old school UG4.

                Gosh owning a Bajaj these days means doing automobile engineering with market analysis specialization.
                Give me a week I'll write my own manual.

                @pavan: At spare part shop I was also told the same thing that each leg needs half of the 320 ml...

                @abhi : My bike was unwashed for few months.. Add to that there's a construction going on in neighbor. Bike had turn green. Also I meant crankcase not crankshaft.

                @jasmin rider : I think Castrol bike zone did teflon like coating...not sure.

                • @lockhrt You just reminded me of a query I had in mind regarding crankcase. What part is it exactly? Is it the assembly on the left which has (I assume) the magnet assembly rotating visible from the glass?

                  If it is, mine has become slightly noisier. I have a colleague who has the exact same bike, his is much more silent. His is at 10000kms and mine is at 6800. Also, has any one of you had any issues with the balancer gear loading? I'm curious as to what in my bike is out of place that is making it vibrate and sound noticeably more than another bike.

                  • Hi guyz ! I am planning to service my bike @ castrol service zone. My Pulsie has crossed 7000 KMS. I serviced by bike @ 4500 kms. and the next BAJAJ service is due @ 10000 KMS. So i thought of doing a intermediate service of my bike @ castrol. My questions are

                    1. Will the service void my warranty ? Coz i am not gonna any crucial parts. So how will the BAJAJ fellows know my bike has been serviced or not?

                    2. Should i change the engine oil ? If yes what oil ?

                    3. What are the things i should report to the service center apart from the problems?

                    I am planning the service because i feel my bike has loosened up a bit . I have been harsh on him lately. So pls shed some light on this issue.

                    Also i think my battery has lost its charge. I assume it from the neutral light blinking and my HORN sounds like a spendlor. . So i need to charge my battery soon.

                    Sterday i crossed a P180 in which the HORN were covered by some material but mine s exposed to dust. So where can i get tht plastic cover? Also two sides of my doom were scratched heavily One by me and other by my friend. Apart from changing my DOOM, is there any other cheaper option ?

                    • Hey friends. This is Akash from Mumbai. (Goregaon)

                      By some work of god my dad finally thought of buying me a motorcycle, but he insisted that if he does he will only let me have a Puslar, because the employees at the factory are using his motorcycle for years and hasn't given them any problems. So I booked a P. 180 UG4 and got the delivery last Saturday. So far I'm satisfied with the awesome machine, my first motorcycle. I had ridden a bike like only 10 times before I bought it, and trust me given a choice I would prefer to riding over driving (which is why I wanted a motorcycle). Done 150 kms so far, (very) occasional bursts upto 8k RPM and random bursts upto 4k combined with occasional riding upto 6k (65 kmph)

                      I also bought a basic matte black LS2 helmet, which adds to the fun due to the amazing ventilation it provides at higher speeds.

                      Hope I'm able to help this community as much as it helped me !

                          1) If it's a service which is not mentioned in your manual than go and service at CBZ. The Bajaj guys will never know untill you tell them the truth.

                          2) I prefer changing oil every 2000-2500kms if it is semi-synthetic and 1500kms for Mineral.

                          3) Nothing just normal service. DON'T GET ANY PARTS CHANGED OUTSIDE. If you want to change the parts than go to Bajaj SC only.

                          There is a cheaper option will cost you some 150-200 Rs. Go to a Paint guy (automotive painter) and tell him. He will do it.

                                I got it done by people who make number plates.
                                A matt black paper comes... I got it sticked on it then cut in shape I wanted.
                                Its easy.
