Paint every silver part with black color.Originally posted by blackstallion180 View PostYea, I too tried with various key chains, but still black patches increasing. Thought of changing the handle bar base to Black one, like in P220 and P180 orange version. Just asked the price at SC. They told me that it will cost more than Rs.1200
for the whole set - Two clip-ons and the base (Can't get the base alone).
BTW, I saw a pulsar in a parking area where mate finished sticker has been placed on the handle bar base (pretty cheap solution). Thinking of doing this in my Blacky
.
SC does it no more than 400Rs.
If done at home shouldn't cost more than 50Rs.
Anyways I'm happy guy here because my bike doesn't have that black patch because I don't use key chain. :P

Have you tried contacting the main dealers for Bombay, instead of SC's. You should get parts from them. BTW, I donot think there is any change in the block\piston set for UG4 180's. You could try and ask those idiots for UG4 parts, they might have them.Originally posted by xionite View Postguys.. i need a few P18OUG3 parts...

Yeah....! that was my foolishness actually! my bad! i made my mind to never ever touch castrol againOriginally posted by abhichotu.abhi View Post
WTH.. Are you sure you downgraded to that Castrool CRAP!!
P150 goes very well with castrol though but p180 really needs a Motul. i haven't tried valvoline so can't comment.

I have checked machining holes are different at timing chain slack adjuster. I have no avail except reboring the block to .25mm on a cnc matched with Mahle piston. After run in of 1000 Km its much much better and smoother. If the timing chain has some noise then you need to change else not necessary. I have replaced with new valves. The total cost comes close to 1.8K including labour.Originally posted by abhichotu.abhi View PostHave you tried contacting the main dealers for Bombay, instead of SC's. Hi All,
A new rider with 3000 Kms done in last 2 n half months. :P
few questions or rather issues i feel
1) While shifting gears lately i have been feeling a lag wherein the gear goes loose for a moment, i have to let go of clutch and then again come back to shift gears, what could be the issue ?
2) Bajaj sevice guy used their own oil in first service, i heard motul 5100 is better, can i get it changed now only or should wait till next service ?
3) The engine feels a little messed up at around 60-70 at 5th gear, as if there is one more gear left, possibility ?
4) a month back i rode with a pillion at 118 kmh, last week it was going above 107kms in ages. whats wrong ?
5) anyone knows a good reliable mechanic in Pune, who could assist with the bike.

Try powder coating to your handle bar and grab rail. I enquired about it and looks like it can be done in Tambaram opposite to siddha hospital. Shouldnt hurt your wallet, I got this info from SVC guys velachery.Originally posted by blackstallion180 View PostYea, I too tried with various key chains, but still black patches increasing. 2. Since you have completed 3000kms it is perfectly safe to use M5100, If you want to change it now.... you can change it...the bajaj oil is not good.
3. P180 is short geared definitely but if you have a good engine oil and your carb is perfectly tuned you shouldn't feel the lack of one more gear.
Have you checked your top speed?
is there a white residue on the center electrode of your spark plug?
does your engine gets heated more frequently and with a burning smell?
what about the pickup? if perfectly tuned you should be able to shift gears at 5k RPM withjout much effort..and engine oil also plays a major role in this part.. better to change the oil now(if you want to) and then check the pickup.
If any of these persists even after changing the oil, then it is likely that your carb is badly tuned( for 'extreme mileage' as they say) ..get it re tuned.
4. Have you took this reading after the service at bajaj? if yes then refer 3rd point ..it is likely that it is out of tune ..or else get your air filter cleaned.
5. pune guyz should help youLast edited by ceasar; 01-12-2011, 04:51 PM.-------------------------------
