my brother has a pulsar 180 UG3. the problems in his bike are that
1 .the self cancelling indicators are not cacelling automatically and
2. Even if i have 8 ltrs of fuel it shows only 1 dot on the fuel meter i am confused
the mechanic told that a baloon in side the tank explodes and u need to replace it costing 250Bucks but i see that whenever i turn on the ignition it shows five dots (8ltrs) which is the actual reading and after 2 mins its 1 or no dots on fuel meter. If the baloon indeed exploded then how is it showing 5 dots?? i am really confused

u prolly need to replace the self-cancelling indicator sensor.Originally posted by neal_wreakz86 View Postmy brother has a pulsar 180 UG3. the problems in his bike are that

it's located in-between the front forks.
that's how it works more or less... is it consistently inaccurate tho?Originally posted by neal_wreakz86 View Post2. Even if i have 8 ltrs of fuel it shows only 1 dot on the fuel meter i am confused

Did yo make some adjustments to the P135 Saree Guard or did it fit as such ?
info :
Yesterday i had a accident. Bike skidded
Scratches in the doom and silencer plate . SHould i change it? How much it costs? Please reply soon
. Believe me or not every owner on this thread has undergone through at least one small accident. I suppose your bike is covered in insurance. Go to the SC and try to get the estimate of bike's damage. Generally bajaj-alliance insurance gives full money to metallic parts and 50% plastic parts. So you will be paying half of the replaced plastic + labor charge.
1. I don't know for sure but I think UG3 doesn't have self cancelling indicators.Originally posted by neal_wreakz86 View Postmy brother has a pulsar 180 UG3. the problems in his bike are that

2. Get second opinion from bajaj authorized service center. If the bike is not older than 2 years then they should replace/repair that part for free.

Headlight Dome will cost some 350-400Rs as far as I remember. Silencer plate another 50-60 Rs.(not sure, but I asked once at SC and this was the price).Originally posted by karthikus View PostLooks Good DUDE

1) Get the sensors replaced. But, no matter how many times you get them replaced or repaired, they will go kaput in a year again.Originally posted by neal_wreakz86 View Postmy brother has a pulsar 180 UG3. the problems in his bike are that

2) I donot think that the 180 UG3 ever came with baloon. There must be sensors that have gone kaput. Replace them is the only solution.

2) I have searched every where in hyderabad but everyone says that it is not possible for them to fix the fuel thing. The bike was bought on jan 08 so no chance of warranty. what should i do. AFAIK pulsar has a float in the fuel tank so does every bike in INDIA
I have no issues regarding replacement i have money also to spend, but the problem i am facing is the availability of parts which are not available here in hyderabadBajaj Pulsar 150 dtsi ug3

I WAS LIKE WHAT THE...!! and then i took it to a bajaj service station and they told that there is a baloon like mechanism(float) inside the tank which explodes over time and i need to replace it but unfortunately they didnt have the part with them and since then its troubling me i dont like the red light blinking on my face as i never have less than 4 ltrs in the tank. and now the red light is always on i am irritated
i need a solution ASAP i am totally helpless as no one in Hyderabad as well as bajaj ASS dont know how to fix this
My bike pulsar 150 ug3 is with my dad now and i am drving my brothers bike as he is in USA. If he sees it when he is back he'll think i screwed it up

It was a minor accident. The scratches are evident in side of the light doom and on the silencer plate. If i replace a new one of these due to the scratches, will it come under warranty? Is it very difficult to claim the amount. Coz i heard one person in SVC saying to a fellow tht it will take 20 days to get the amount back and the bike should be in the garage for atleast 3-4 days. Is that tru?

No warranty for accidental purposes. Don't claim any insurance, it will take alot of time(3-7 days atleast). Instead, pay 400 Rs and get the new Mask.Originally posted by karthikus View PostIt was a minor accident. The scratches are evident in side of the light doom and on the silencer plate. I don't think that the headlight mask will cost anything less than 600. Because they don't provide only glass itself.
when my bike had scratched somewhere it costed me approximately thousand.
@karthik: if money is not the issue then you should get the things replaced straightaway. getting replaced under warranty or insurance is a hectic work.

Yes, the headlight will cost more somewhere between 1300-1700Rs total cost with mask. I was only talking about the MASK (black) that costed me 300-400Rs.Originally posted by lockhrt999 View PostI don't think that the headlight mask will cost anything less than 600. I posted this on Help Me too. But I guess its important to chronicle this in Ownership experience:
I have a pulsar 180 UG4 which is 3 months and almost 4000kms old. Had the second service done at 3500 kms (cause I felt the bike needed it).
Now, before the second service, I had tuned the bike myself. I took 6-7 tries but I had a decent enough tuning (45-46km/l), power balanced etc.
I did read through the afr tuning process many times and followed the procedures properly (idling at 4K rpm and then doing the tuning process).
But a problem of throttle varying was there since the beginning. When cold, if i held the throttle anywhere between 15-25%, the rev needle would oscillate by a margin of 1-1.5k rpm. This oscillation decreased when the engine is hot. Also, when the engine is cold, the bike would not accelerate smoothly due to this problem. The bike would pickup with jitters in that throttle range untill it lurched forward in a higher rpm range. But all this was much lesser in degree compared to now.
At the second service, I asked B.A.S.S. to overhaul and ajust the carb. They adjusted the carb via the CO tuning method. The guy who did it said my previous setting had the CO% figures through the roof - 6% to be precise (whereas for bajaj bikes its rarely above 2%). He tuned it to less than 2% but that was way too lean as it turned out since the rpm was unstable even at idling.
So I went there and they made it richer which solved the problem to quite a bit it's still worse than when I had tuned it myself (which sent the CO% rocketing). Now in winters its even bad. The engine takes 10mins of riding to warm up. Only then does the pick up become linear.
Now from what I can understand, the AFR is obviously not right. But correcting it send my CO emissions in a tizzy. But even last time, it wasn't perfect.
Is there any other problem I should be looking at? a clogged fuel line or something? I have tried to explain the problem to these people but they just shun what I'm saying as useless fretting. I dont know how i can even get them to acknowledge the issue.
BTW, after the second service, the bike has become a lot more peppier. Pickup and all has generally imrpoved by leaps and bounds.
