From a long time, I was thinking that even when the bikes RIM were okay, then too why the front tyre was losing air very rapidly (4-5psi per day), and there was no puncture,(not even microscopic, I checked it 100's of times). Yesterday, the bike's tyre completely deflated, I took it to tyre-wala and he inspected and as usual found no puncture. Then, he checked if there is any air leaking from sidewall of tyre, and Whoa! there was a huge puncture in the sidewall, the air was leaking like from a pressure cooker. Although, there was no nail, nothing that could have caused the puncture and the RIM was also fine. He then repaired the puncture as usually done for a tubeless tyre and all iz well! now.

RPM to Speed equation
Guys,
Anybody knows the ideal speed for a given rpm on a 180 UG4 ?
I tried googling but unable to find anything..
When I do 5 RPM, I get a speed around 70. Is this ideal or I am on the lesser side ?
If you have this equation please share it with me..

Hi there, welcome to this community.Originally posted by Chitrak View Postwell i am new to this community, and my pul 150ug 4.5 (odo- 2200kms) has been bothering me for the last 2 mts. it returns a mileage of 37-38 only, whereas previously it gave anything around 47.
the problem started when i went to the svc regarding a clicking noise (that comes from the right side) which agrravates on long distance driving (say 35kms at a stretch). i guess it was the tappet noise (which i didnt know then). the svc guy messed up with my tuning and since then my bike is returning a low mileage.
went to them again and they retuned from the previous setting. after that it gives <=40.........even a local mechanic was not succesful.
things have become really frustrating and so i decided to do it on my own.......the first thing i noticed was that the a/f screw was set at only 3/4 turns from the leanest position. is this right? or am i running lean? if so, why am i facing such low mileage? what is the optimal no. of turns(approx)?
plz help me out........
This has become the general thumb rule that Bajaj SC guys are not that trained to posses capability to tune your bike. It shouldn't have tuned in the first place. Still if you want to how to tune it properly just go back few pages as I remembering discussing similar thing.

@abhi, I know very late to write this
It was nice meeting to you.
As I drove your bike I was surprised to notice a hell of difference between two P180s same model same year.
Your bike was a quite less noisy. Also brakes were still responsive
. It felt more like a cruiser bike.
What do you think of my bike?

I did a trip of approx 300 km a week ago to Ahemdnager. It was my first long trip on the bike and it was coincidently my bike's first birthday. She really had good treat.
One side distance was 150 and took only 2 hrs to cover it going through two cities.
My average speed on highway was above 110.
I came across many incredible things during this time.
The highest speed I touched was 141 KPH on slope.
I know it doesn't count but It's the highest speed at which my body had moved on the face of the earth. The highest speed of my bike has become 135 as I touched it twice on stretches. In total I went almost 5 times above 130.
In cold mornings it was tough to get bike above 110 in 5th gear but after half an hour bike got very smooth.
I redlined countless times. One that I won't forget ever...bike went to 124 in 4th gear at 11k RPM.
I learned one thing after running into one invisible corner at 129KPH shitting my pant that bike is not meant for cornering at 110+ speed or should I say roads aren't meant for bikes to do cornering at such speeds... gee z either way lesson learned.
During trip gear shifting became very hard or impossible suddenly it turned out clutch wire came loose because two nuts who hold the tension in the wire became loose due to the vibrations. It was SC's fault entirely became they never tighten them when they removed clutch cable for some reason. Anyway I tighten them back using my fingers.
Same 150Km distance takes almost 4 hours if you use state transport. After ride I was almost as fresh as before starting ride.
Bike returned average of 39 KMpL. It's the lowest I have ever got on my bike. Last lowest was 46. I guess constant redlining would have caused bike to give such a nice average.Last edited by lockhrt999; 11-30-2010, 12:50 AM.

Dragged my 180 UG4 with my 220 FI (fuel injected) and was surprised to know that untill 100kmph there was almost null difference between the 2 bikes after 110kmph, 220 moved ahead slightly. And the speeds in 220 were exact of our bikes wrt rpm. Like @5K 70-71kmph in both bikes, @6K 82-83kmph in both bikes, @7.3K 100-102kmph in both bikes. Nothing much other than torque and a bit of bum in power makes these 2 mills separate.

Nice meeting you too.
I would love to spend more time with you as I plan my next trip to Pune in Jan 2011. As you told that you had 300V inside the heart of your bike, it was straightly noticable as soon as I twisted the throttle of your bike, Damn Smooth! my bike has never before behaved that good as yours. Yes, the brakes were abit spongy. Besides, everything fine. Engine noise? I never observed.
Great to hear that. Finally, your bike gets a real treat. 141kmph is amazing and even for this bike, for me, anything above 125kmph is very good infact. Do post a little photos.Originally posted by lockhrt999 View PostI did a trip of approx 300 km a week ago to Ahemdnager. I am abit lazy on uploading photos and writing so did'nt upload the pics of my trip till now. Will do it asap. 39kmpl is very good, especially with speeds above 110kmph.
P.S: Check engine oil level after each trip.

hi friends,i got this bike 1.5 month back, first service is done..
there are 3 things worrying me
1.the main stand touches grounds even in small turn and small path-holes
2.even though i have 5 ltrs of petrol in tank, the reserve light glows..
3.the right side cover doesn't fit properly..it almost comes out..

1) Although not a single time since I purchased the bike my stand touched any road obstacle. And I have ridden my bike through most bad terrains. Get the bike to a mechanic and tell him to hammer the base that supports the main stand.Originally posted by manojkrishnaks View Posthi friends,i got this bike 1.5 month back, first service is done..

2) Check the sensors.
3) Check the RHS cover locks. There are rubber covers over the lock which tend to comeout with time and hence loose RHS cover.
Thanks.

It's not reserve sensor and it starts glowing when you have 4-5 liters of fuel left in tank.Originally posted by abhichotu.abhi View Post...

How did the light know that there is only 4-5 litres? There must be a sensor for this job. Ain't it?Originally posted by lockhrt999 View PostIt's not reserve sensor and it starts glowing when you have 4-5 liters of fuel left in tank.
Keep it going. Get some more. Liked this one.Originally posted by lockhrt999 View PostOne click of the bike
