generally it glows whenever there are two bar remaining fuel meter...and when you get only 2 bars that means you aren't having more fuel than 4-5 liters...so I guess there's nothing wrong with his bike.Originally posted by abhichotu.abhi View Post

Hi all, My bike s due for second service. it has clocked 4600 KMS. Here are some few issues i am facing now.
1. If i ride the bike @ 60 KMPH and take my hand off the handle bar, the handle bar starts shaking i.e like shivering. Initially it was due to air problem in the rear tire. Tht issue has been resolved, but still the issue persist
2. Engine noise is too high. Is it ok or should i report it to service center. esp after riding it for >20 kms
3. I am facing issues with gear box. One is i cant find neutral as long as engine is on. The second i switch off the bike, i can shift to neutral. And second, recently i am facing some gear slippage. Say i am riding the bike @ 40 kmph and when i shift to 5 th gear, the shift occurs but suddenly after 2-3 sec the bike again comes to 4 th gear.
4. I have welded the foot rest with the saree gaurd. It looks odd. How can i fix this. I heard from my friends tht i should use powder paint. how can i get it. can i report it to service center. BTW my foot rest is shining steel.
5.Which s the best shock position for 85 kg built man. I cant settle on any. Any suggestions?
6. I am getting some keech...keech sound from my rear side. I am not sure whether its comin from suspension or chain or wheel. Any info on culprit identification?
And last of all should i get some other oil like valvoline and ask the service center guyz to use tht. If so what is the suggested oil? Will all bajaj service centers accept the outside oil?
Thanks for the experienced members who are willing to answer every query posted by mine.
CHEERS
EDIT
When i was browsing through the forum i noticed the posts about bike service @ 2500 kms. But my manual says the second service s @ 4500-5000 kms. Believing in my manual, i didnt service the bike or change the oil after the first service.
Have i killed my bike
Please reply soon guyz

1) Report the problem to SC. They will tighten the steering and shocks.Originally posted by karthikus View PostHi all, My bike s due for second service. it has clocked 4600 KMS. Here are some few issues i am facing now.

2) As the second service interval for newer lot of 180 is longer @5000kms, so, the bike must behave little loose than bikes with 2500kms (older lot like mine) service intervals. No problem. Normal behavior of Pulsar, you will get used to it.
3) Gear slippage is due to loose chain and the neutral problem will go by time. But, donot expect it to go fully, my bike still 40% of times slots into wrong gear when I want it neutral.
4)
I have done the same to my Pulsar 220 FI. I think you should get the saree guard replaced with P150 one. Best option is this.
5) Stock is the best. If you feel it too soft then go for 1 level higher, i.e. stiffer setting.
6) May be brakes shoe, get it checked.
If the SC agrees to put the oil you buy from outside then purchase oil on your own. I fill Valvoline 20w50 @270Rs. Other options are Motul 15w50 @450Rs, Motul 3100. I think SC guys will put in Bajaj DTS-i 10000 oil in your bike.
P.S: Service the bike every 1500kms, I follow this rule and I am happy with my bike's TIGHT performance.
Thanks.

update: I've tighten clutch wire and now gear shifting has become a lot less difficult.
I think my rear suspension has become a little stiff. Sometimes when riding with pillion on big digs it feels like rim is touching the road and on the other hand when riding alone it feels like apache or old Kawasaki pulser.
I think shocks have run out of nitrox.

hi guys,
something has happened to my bike, yesterday night i was going around a speed of of 60kmph , i increased the speed ,then the rpm went to 10k + and it would not come back..until i turned off the engine. after that whenever i started the bike the RPM went to 10k automatically..it was like that for an hour and a half.. the bike doesn't move. it was hell yesterday night.. don't know what happened..

Hey guys i own a p180 ug3 model and have clocked 26k...
my pulsar's peformance used to be awesome, beating apache 160 and other p180s always in drag races and such...
but since last service performace has been like a dead bike...
and last week i my bike died totally..
i got it checked and i got report that the piston has worn out and needs to be replaced...
how could this have happened?
did the svc guys screw it up??
how to avoid further issues like this...
P.S. I've been driving my bike with faulty piston and its like driving a bullock cart or something and that with a lot of smoke but majboori hai till 1st Jan...
is it okay or should i stop..
my friends say engine will blast or something....Men who still dream of being a pilot or an astronaut are yet to ride a motorcycle.

Check the rear shocks 'dampening', usually improper dampening causes the rear to bounce unusually on bad patches and making it hard for spine.Originally posted by lockhrt999 View Postupdate: I've tighten clutch wire and now gear shifting has become a lot less difficult.

your accelerator cable must have been stuck at a point. Was the accelerator moving fully from clkwise to anti? or clean the carburetor, did you played with carburetor settings?Originally posted by pulsar18 View Posthi guys,

Your friends speak crap! Yes, the engine will start loosing compression and one day the bike will die, leaving you stranded anywhere; (but engine will never blast). Get it done as per your convenience and donot ride anymore than 4-5K rpm.Originally posted by dushyant123 View PostHey guys i own a p180 ug3 model and have clocked 26k...

....
New problem: Speedo is now showing arbitrary numbers. I just hit 199KPH in bumper to bumper traffic
. SC guy said speed sensor must has gone kaput. I think I'll get it changed it ASAP as it's under warranty.

Dampening means checking the whole shock-up dampening assembly which includes struts (springs), every other thing.Originally posted by lockhrt999 View Postdampening?

Check the speed cable it might have gone loose too.
