for my bike it wasnt changed, i insisted on it....
This is my second bajaj vehicle to be precised, i had a discover before which did 1,30,000 odd kms in 2.5-3 years time...all that was changed on it was tires, clutchplates, spark plugs, air filter, brake shoes, clutch cable, chain sprocket and accelarator cable...i clearly remember that....you see bajaj vehicles are very low on maintenance....its just us at times where we feel the need to change..if you see my tire condition it can go well for another 6,000kms...its also on how you keep your vehicle..

My bike could do 130 kmph last week before this chain stuff happend....i mean thats good but you need perfect shifts to do that also you need the right judgement of gears depending on the inclination of the road..small things big effect.

Right now it is slowing down cz of the chain, lets see. mostly this weekend will repair it..

      • Well the problem seems to be that my battery charge has gone down.I have given the battery for recharging.Hope it goes well.I dont ride that much, that could have been the problem but why did it go out all of a sudden without any particular warning watsoever because 2 days ago i had a 200Km ride and there was no problem during the trip. The battery indicator on the console also did not show any warning, even when the charge was low, the battery indicator was showing okay. When i switch on the lights it stays on for a few seconds and then goes out automatically.Horn, indicators pilot lamp all works though. Also if i require to replace the battery is the amaron AP9 battery good one?.

Wow Daredevil! I can't be you and I am amazed that you are complaining about increased performance from bike, I don't know how might be psychological.

By any chance you use mobile to surf on xBhp? No BAD meant, but you seem to have too much spelling mistakes in every now and then post.

The old Discover was one Heck of a bike. One of my relatives owns it and it has clocked 80,000+ kms and still there are no signs of any leak or bad engine. All the things including oil consumption, mileage (60kmpl) are normal. That's really something strong from BAJAJ, even the older Classic Pulsars were bullet proof. Nowadays I feel the quality has degraded alot due to increased competition.

Might be the battery plates have become weak. I don't know about any particular model from Amaron, but I did use Amaron 9AH battery in my Pulsar 220 and it works like charm now also.

Well might be the plates.Battery is just 18 months old.Like i said the problem from my part would be that i dont ride that much.I was wondering if anythng else could have been the problem like the RR unit not working properly or something else?.Yes, i have heard a lot of positive reviews about amaron.I guess if it comes to changing the battery, will go with amaron.

In most of the cases the battery do lasts above 3 years. In my case it is 2.5 Years+ and still on stock battery. While in some cases battery don't even lasts 12 months (again happened with me once.) Get a new battery (is current one has gone bad) so as to eliminate any bad happenings.

there was some battery problem with me too..head light suddenly decreased, light blinks whenever use horn.then checked my battery, and it was almost empty..no more water was there.but there was any sign of battery low indication in console. so whats the use of this indicator?. also i dont know how it works?. anyone tell me what will be the indication in console representing low battery?
                one more question,
really whats this maintenance free battery means?

                  1) Air filter
                  2) Engine Over heat
                  3) Engine oil level
                  4) Low battery

Unfortunately none of these sensors work rightly. If a sensor blinks it is a (in 90% of the cases) wrong signal or a kaput sensor.

                  • There are three things I'd like to share :
Two weeks ago I happened to engage in a race with a Disco (don't remember cc). 2 people on disco and single me on my 180 on NH4. I could overtook him only above 110kph but then he would overtook me once I hit traffic. They were too desperate. I even remember hitting 133kph but still I lost it. Two of them on single disco not only defeated me but humiliated me as well.
See discover has that potential as it produces same power as premium bikes like hunk or cbz and weighs less.

On other night when power was cut, a disco had to lit the pathway to the parking using its headlight to assist a CBZ coming for parking. Now here's the funny fact, the cbz's headlight was too low lit because of the low RPM and hence its rider couldn't figure out the pathway to parking. On the other hand, the owner of the disco didn't even have to start disco's engine as it was full DC.

On same NH4 I was riding my friend's R15 with him as pillion. The bike had only done 3k km. Still I couldn't take it above 100 kph, I tried it in 4th, 5th, 6th gear with full accelerator. How do you take R15 above 100kph when you riding with pillion? Someone explain please?

So when your battery got drained its liquid was almost empty but my water level was between the min and max level.I specially checked that.I am suspecting my RR unit is not working or something otherwise how can it get drained if the water level is okay.Is there any other means by which battery gets drained even if the water level is correct?.Well abhi said battery plates could have gone but after i gave it for charging it is working fine.I guess now that the bike is running i will take it to service centre to see what went wrong.I dont want the battery to run out again when i am on a trip. That would be disastrous .Battery warning thing doesnt work. From my experience its all a gimmick.

Maintenance free battery just means you dont have to look after it too much.If the battery has like 18 month warranty or something,it means the battery is supposed to run till that time without any top up or service.Just that unlike other batteries it requires less frequent top ups.

I suspect something is wrong! Either your bike is feeling too much of gravity or the R15 was not well ridden. For both of the incidences I give you a BIG LOL and ROFL!

                          I'm not making anything up.
About that disco the rider was too suicidal as he was taking deadly close gaps. I didn't have guts to take same gaps. I gave up. You know these kinda people (slum type). They will bring you to their level.
About that R15 I'm unsure what went wrong. Tell me is there any different way to ride R15?

I have not ridden an R15 above 50kmph so I don't know. Might be something not going right with that 'particular' R15.

@all: I forgot to mention that my bike's parts might fall apart anyday.
