took the bike to 2 other local mechanics and also one friend. Asked them to test ride the bike and see if they sense something wrong with the handle. All 3 of them said that its perfectly fine.

Maybe i was so used to riding at the faulty setting that i thought even the proper setting is faulty. Psychological i guess...

If i use motul 5100 it will void warranty...should wait one more year for the warranty to get over or start using motul..?

Bad news guys, i called the service advisor of GEMS bajaj and told him the current scenario, i cannot claim it under warranty because it said to be a wear and tear part...

He said actually at 10k this coneset stuff has to be either greased or changed, as a periodic maintenance, depending upon the condition...had the problem been under 5k kms, i could have got warranty.

And the total cost including labor would be around 750 bucks...!!!

I read a couple of threads on xbhp and saw that coneset has to be fixed or replaced at 11-12k, so i guess the service advisor isnt trying to rip me..!

        wat say..???
normally the coneset lasts much longer than 10k..and may require regreasing periodically , but they are know to fail for various reasons i mentioned earlier.
750 sounds a bit on the higher side because i think bajaj spares are much cheaper compared to hero and honda.. y dont u just ask in a regular spares shop wat is the cost of the coneset part (labor should be around 150~200rs max)

resolved ? u mean it was 'psychological' and nothing mechanically wrong ? If so then maybe YOU should go in for a general service

Coneset costs Rs. 400. I can confirm this.

Yes they will need to open that. And that's why I said if you have just fixed that handle you could have gotten those bearing greased at the same time.

                          hello riders,

Handle of my P150 is shaking badly , specially in low speed with pillion rider setaing one way. Also I am not finding my bike to be stable in highspeed in expressways. Do I need to change cone set and sprocket?

Sprocket??? I believe you have got a bent front rim. In high speeds, it's not very evident due to faster rotation but in lower speeds it's definitely noticeable

But I don't face the same riding solo or a pillion rider seating leg spread both ways (as slow as 30-35)... also I checked for the bent rim also, no sign of anything like that.... mine is P150 Ug4.5 so it comess in alloy.... it is not that stable in high speeds also. Not much evident of shaking handle but travelling at higher speeds (in 90s -106) I could feel the sterring is not easy as it used ot be. I am using Pirelli SD 130-80/17 Rear and Apache Stock as front tyres. My local mech says with labour charge changing cone set will cost me something 500 to 550.

For the love of manmohan's beard, throw away that oil. Fill engine with motul 3000 15W50 mineral oil as it's fine oil for running period. From 2000km onwards stick to motul 5100 15W50 every 3000km.
I own P150 UG4.5 , clocked 20k in 12 months.. I am using motul 5100 15W50. I drain the oil in every 1200 to 1300 kms... is thst is perfect?

                                not perfect but overkill.
