Yeah, it does seem a lot. The tires have another 10k kms of life left. The insurance will have to be renewed which should be around 1600 rupees.
I'm giving that guy 48k in cash, let's see if he agrees or not. @lockhrt999 your input please.
48k seems good deal if the bike is in tip top condition.

P180 UG4 never depreciated as badly as most of the bikes but then now you have to consider that the model is 5 years old and due for a definitive replacement. You could find similar condition bike at 40-45k after being discontinued.
But for now at 48-50k and if you know the bike, I think the deal is very good.

At 20k km as you know, there is no major maintenance expense. Hell, there is no major expense for another 20k. The only thing you may want to change now are the brakes and fork oil. Check for the scratches on crash guard to know if the bike had any fall. And bikes without any fall are non existing. My bike fell 5 times in its 20k life

Also there is no common major issue with the bike to look out for. Headlight does shake irrespective to the bike, that's due to Bajaj made it over complicated and heavy. Drive chain does touch the swing arm rubber when it's free.

Buy it buddy, we'll be in same club (of some sorts :P)

Cleaner: I completely forgot the insurance, yup 48k seems like a reasonable price, best of luck.

John P Daniel: "at a constant throttle feed during cruise at 70-80kmph speeds..is it normal?"
nope, get the carb checked, retuning might be required, more importantly, check for air leaks on the carb duct coming from airfilter and manifold and duct going towards head. and when was the last time airfilter was cleaned?

acushle: congrats on the purchase. as for you query
"1. Getting to neutral is hard especially when you are not in motion at a red light in traffic. Is there a fix for this ?"

well, it will get smoother eventually, mention it when you take it for first service.
or you will get used to it. adjusting clutch play and chain slack, oil change does yield decent results.

"2. When riding in 2nd or 3rd gear, I hear noise similar to the one made by an old ceiling fan from the engine. Is this normal ?"

I believe you might be changing gears too early if it a khad khad sort of noise. try stretching 5-8 kmph more in every gear than you are going right now, and see if noise changes

"3. Engine seems to be overheating at times and I smell a distinct odour similar to the one you get when burning a plastic cover ?"

that's ok for a new bike, that odor could be new engine and oil working up. but to be safe check the exhaust and engine of any plastic/polythene stuck.

"4. When riding with a pillion, full stand touches the ground at speed bumps. Tire pressure of 28 psi on the front and 32 in the rear with pillion as mentioned by bajaj doesn't seem to be doing justice to the bike performance. What is the maximum air pressure I can go for without causing any adverse effect to the tires or bike ? "

tyre pressure is ok. but if you ride with a pillion a lot, get the rear suspension adjusted.

That guy is getting exactly 48k, not a penny more. He said he would discuss it with his parents, let's see how it turns up. I agree that there is no bike that had no falls, but I meant that the bike had not suffered any crashes. The console has the usual vibration which is a characteristic of Bajaj bikes.
I think I will get the bike if I could arrange the money. One quick question, could the front console visor be purchased separately? The guy has put a sticker on it and while removing it, he scratched the plastic so badly that it cannot be buffed up.
I am back!

Yes, visor comes as a stand alone product only. I don't know its price though.

Air filter was cleaned just a few hundred kilo meters ago... I'll check with the carburetor soon.. Bike feels so lifeless at such speeds and loses power frequently.. I'll update it soon..

I'm getting some noice in engine when I speeds between 63 - 68kmph in 5th gear, after that noice is not coming.
I consult with mechanic, he had no idea about this.

Please help guys.

Noise was like when we try to throttle above gear's max speed.. It was like "trr trrrr"

Maybe a loose bolt, in my case it was a noise from Leg guard at 3500-4000rpm and took 3 months just to source it. I thought its from engine but it wasn't. Just tighten the bolts all over.

Very true. Before suspecting the engine, if the noise isn't clearly audible from engine, check and tighten any loose bolt/nut.

Plus also check the exhaustec piggy back coming from bend pipe which rests under the engine. In some cases I have noticed it to be hitting the chassis intermittently at certain rpm. Just check for enough clearence between the chassis and piggy back. You can insert a folded new paper by sliding it between the gap and see if there is any difference.

but this is happening only in 5th gear, and only between 63 to 68km speed after that noise stopped.
Anyway I will check again for loose bolt/nut.

Front fairing could also cause such sound.. Also, the Saree guard may create the nose. Try to hit the date guard with your fists to check for the same noise..
